Shaking Things Up...

Chapter Twenty-Two.

"Hey, where have you been? We waited in the changing room for you but you never showed. Why are you still wearing that?" Sapphire asks, pointing the stupid uniform and I finally realise that I'm still wearing it. Maybe that's why guys were staring at me...

"Ohh... Um... sorry, I was talking to Sarah." I tell them and confusion crosses their faces.

"Family stuff." I lie and they nod, turning back to their lockers. I spin the dial on my own and take out my history book.

"Do you know what? I think I'm going to skip." I tell them, putting the book back in and taking my bag out.

"What? Why?" They ask at the same time and I shrug, slamming the locker shut and leaning casually against it.

"I just can't be bothered with all these stares." I tell them as I point to the guy who has actually stopped in the middle of the corridor to look at my legs.

"Bug off!" Sapphire shouts at the guy and he staggers off. Good riddance.

"Okay then, I guess we'll see you later? We'll pass by after school." Sapphire tells me and Kayleigh nods.

"cool, I'll see you guys then." I'm about to walk away when I remember something.

"If you see Sarah, tell her that I'm away home too. Kay?" I ask and they nod. Kayleigh jumps into my arms, obviously thinking something is wrong and hugs me. I need the comfort, so I hug her back.

"Eat some ice-cream for me." she whispers in my ear before pulling back and walking away with Sapphire.

"Sure." I whisper to myself as I hitch my bag up my shoulder a little more.

I head out of the school and find my car parked in the parking lot. I touch the hood of the car before jumping in and starting it up. Riding out of the school, I find that the roads are pretty quiet. Which is sort of weird.

When I reach my house, I'm not afraid of my parents being home because that would be like being afraid that some of Santa's little helpers will be trying on my high heels when I get home. Yeah, not gonna happen.

I drag myself upstairs to my room and stop to stare at my chalk wall. Sarah had added to it last night, she wrote our game plan on it but decided that it would be best to write it in French. Unlucky for me, I can't speech French. I can speak Spanish and Italian, but not French. I think I might learn it so I can check if she has wrote something dirty up there.

I sigh, getting a little sad as I remember Sarah's face dripping with tears and trudge to my closet where I dump my bag and shove on some boy shorts and a tank. I think that maybe today is meant to be a 'Watch-a-movie-and-eat-some-ice-cream' kind of day.

I push my feet into my bugs bunny slippers with the huge ears and walk down stairs, heading to the kitchen. In the kitchen I take some Ben and Jerry's ice cream out of the freezer and put it on a tray with some aspirin, a glass of water and some microwaveed popcorn. Yes ladies and gentlemen, I am having one of those days. And I think y'all know what that means. I head for the movie room.

I turn the TV on and take one of the new DVD's that I bought when I was shopping with Sapp and Kay. The DVD is called 'Easy A', I haven't seen it but it's meant to be hilarious, and I desperately need something to laugh at today.

I put it in the player and just as I'm about to sit down and get my groove on, the door bell rings.

"Go Away!" I shout loud enough for them to hear.
