Amara POV
two months later...

"Stay back!" I yelled in warning, my pistol drawn and trained on the bounty hunter.
He didn't have to know that it was empty.

The dogs were back at the hotel, which was for the best. It had taken much to keep them safe through all of this, and I would continue to keep them safe.
They were all I had.

The bounty hunter slowly raised his hands in the air.
"You're a hard girl to find, yet with such a large bounty on your head I can't help but be curious as to what you did."

I laughed, keeping my empty gun trailed on his chest.
"This."
I let tongues of green fire leap from my hands and hit the bounty hunter square in his chest.

He fell to the ground with a unmanly shriek, his body shaking several times before going still.

I tucked the pistol into its holster and calmly strode over to the man, crouching down and feeling for a pulse.
He was still alive.

I dragged him closer to the small town where I was staying, hoping that someone would find him before the wild animals did.

Ever since my escape dreams had come and visited me every time I rested my eyes- nightmares.
The bodies of the Liberty for the Bounded agents I had killed in my escape, rising from the floor and chasing me, grabbing at my limbs, and pulling me back into that glass chamber.

I ran a palm down my face, before sticking a hand in my pocket and pulling out the remainder of my money.
Not much.

I made my way into town, purchasing some canned corn, beans, and chicken noodle soup and lugging it back to my hotel room.
Destiny and Survivor greeted me happily a the door and I rubbed their heads with a small laugh, opening one of the cans of soup and splitting it into two bowls before setting them down on the floor.
"Eat up,"

I myself opened one of the cans of corn, taking a spoon and digging in, my stomach growling lowly.

I had been constantly on the move since my escape, first having flown to Continent 1- the largest of all the continents, only to have been forced from there when I discovered the LB base was thriving, and agents were everywhere.
Two Continents (and one near death experience) later I had ended up here, on Continent 2, in a small town in the middle of nowhere.

"We are going to have to move soon," I said with a sigh, looking at the dogs.
They continued to eat their food.
"Bounty hunters have begun to find me, even here. Where should we go next?"
They didn't reply.
Look at me, talking to my dogs as if they could here me.

I pulled myself out of my chair, slipping out the door and locking it behind me.
I had to go to work, I needed a ticket out of here as soon as possible.
They couldn't find me.
I could kill anyone else.

Chelsie POV

I looked in the mirror.
My baby bump had grown significantly.

I smiled softly, rubbing my stomach.
"Don't worry little Finn, you'll be safe. I won't let anyone take you from me. I won't let anyone hurt you."

Someone knocked on the door and I quickly slipped a shirt on, opening the door.

"Yulia!" I greeted with a wide smile, wrapping my arms around her in a hug.

"Chelsie, darling. I brought you what you asked for. Oreos, pickles, and broccoli. Whatever it's all for."

I sheepishly took the food, opening the can of pickles and popping one in my mouth. "Cravings."

Yulia came in and sat at the table. I offered her a pickle and she politely declined.

"Any updates on Amara's location?" I questioned between bites.

"She's somewhere on Continent Two- what used to be Africa, but we haven't been able to find her exact location. None of the bounty hunters return, and the ones who do speak of a witch with green lighting that dances from her fingertips."

I shivered.
"She's not coming back here, right? She won't try to take me and little Finn?"

Yulia reaches out and gently caressed my hand. "Don't worry Chelsie. We will find her and terminate her before she can hurt you and your unborn baby."

I relaxed, opening the Oreo package.

Peter POV

"Send me to find her. You know I'm the only one who can."

My father shook his head, emitting a short laugh.
"We both know you're infatuated with the monster. The last thing you would do is bring her back."

I clenched a fist.
"You told me that she would help us save the world, you didn't tell me you would be torturing her- and killing her!"

Father shook his head at me.
"What is the first thing you were taught in your training?"

I looked away. "Never to grow attached to any target."

"And you did exactly that! I'm a few steps away from locking you up and taking away all your privileges!"

I couldn't contain my anger any longer.
"There has to be another way! You can't do this to someone! This isn't what Mother would have wanted!"

"I would suggest shutting your mouth, son." My father's voice was icy cold.

I was done living in fear of him.
"You have to see what you're doing is cruel, you have to see that you are being the bad guy... I thought we were saving life's- not destroying them! Setting people free- not enslaving them!"

"That's enough!" My father roared.

The doors opened and Yulia came in.
My father nodded to her and she reached behind her back, taking out a taser, stabbing it into my neck before I could react.

When I came to I was strapped down to a table.

Yulia loomed above me.
"Agent Lafrance. What is your mission?"

"To track down fugitive and traitor Amara May."

"And what do you do once you've found her?"

"Terminate her."
