The small pittering and pattering of raindrops meeting rooftops echoed around us. Separating ourselves was difficult and awkward. I avoided his intentful gaze, my skin boiling with surprise. The air was cool and brisk, and cold drops of Paris rain hit my face, yet I remained as hot as a fresh loaf of bread.
"I...." A strong desire to say something came over me, but my brain was silent and empty.
"...That was long overdue." Chat chuckled softly. I felt calm as emerald eyes met ones of the ocean.
"Yeah, no kidding..." I smiled a bit. There was this urge, this feeling to meet his lips again. My parents always told me to follow my heart, so I did.
I pressed my mouth against his, and my arms wrapped themselves gently around the back of his neck.
"Oh, what's this? Who knew my purrincess liked me so much?~" Chat purred, a smirk plastered onto his face.
"Ah, shut up, kitty." I playfully moved his face away from mine with my hand.
A bright pink tint paraded across my freckles and soft skin, feeling like a warm blanket that increased in heat the more I looked into his crystal-like eyes.
"So. Are you going to listen to me now?"
"...ok."
"Mari, princess, what's going on with Lila is not ok. The principal will listen to Chat Noir more than he'll listen to Adrien. I'll explain that I work on social issues with teenagers, and that you and I have been trying to work on the 'Lila issue' for quite some time, but it's escalated too far. Then, hopefully, he'll do something. I'd like to show him evidence...." Chat nodded towards my phone which I now clutched close to my chest.
"...alright. T-thank you, Chat." I pecked his cheek, a small smile on my face. The rain grew stronger. "I-isn't your home across town? Would you l-like to..."
"Yeah, I'll stay the night, thanks!" He smirked and teasingly winked.
I huffed and quickly headed back inside the comfort of my room.
"You go to sleep, Mari, I have some research to do." Chat said, his voice clear and soothing, as he scrolled through his phone.
I nodded my head and crawled underneath my covers, dozing off to the sweet melodic tune of Chat's humming.
"Plagg, claws in.." Was the last thing I heard before I fell asleep.
Chat's POV
I watched to see when Marinette would fall asleep. It was easy when to tell whether or not she was faking sleep. Her breath was always so much more fast paced, rushed, or panicked when she was awake, compared to the gentle and calmness of her breath while she slept. Slowly, I crept up to where she was sleeping and examined her face, questioning how she made it through each day with so much stress.
"So, you finally got the girl of your dreams.~" Plagg said, his voice low and scratchy. I rolled my eyes at him, who was eating some small treats along with Tikki. We chatted for a few minutes before my eyes felt too heavy to stay awake.
I chuckled to see a small picture of me sticking out from under her plush cat pillow. I layed down next to Mari, stroking her soft, velvety hair as I fell alseep with a small smile on my face, the sound of Plagg attempting to flirt with Tikki filling the back of my brain.
