13: Jimin, Taehyung, and You

"I've lost someone who was never mine."

The three of you stood in front of your door, watching the other two pairs of groups enter in as you nervously balled your hands into fists.

Of course I got the group with Jimin...

Honestly, you didn't know if you were happy or terrified of this. But why should you be terrified about being around your best friend?

Because you love him, you dolt.

You sighed, and watched Taehyung as he pulled open the door in front of you. The only thing you could do now is focus on the task at hand, and push your feelings deep, deep down, to never surface ever again.

That should work, right?

"You coming?" Jimin asked, leaning down sideways to meet your eyes, making you jump out of your thoughts.

"Oh, yes! Sorry, I was miles away." you respond, cheeks tinting.

Jimin grinned.

"I wonder what's waiting up ahead..." Taehyung spoke up, "Knowing what we've already been through, I can't imagine it getting any better."

You nodded in agreement. "Let's just try and find this final member and get this over with."

The three of you start wandering through the maze, making light conversation together that never became awkward, to your luck. It was nice talking to Jimin like normal, and Taehyung was becoming a good friend that you cared about.

Suddenly, your conversation was interrupted by the chime of a cellphone.

Taehyung slowly reached his hand into his front pocket, pulling out the device with a worried crease forming on his forehead. He opened the message, and you noticed his hand holding the phone visibly start to shake.

You and Jimin exchanged a worried glance.

"Hey, Tae? What's up?" you ask.

He instantly shuts his phone off at the sound of your voice, and shoves it into his pocket.

"...Nothing important." he says back softly.

"If you ever need to talk about anything, we're here for you, always." you reply. Jimin nods in agreement.

Taehyung looks hesitant, and takes a deep breath.

"I guess... maybe I should talk about it." he finally says.

As the three of you continue your walk through the maze, Taehyung finally opens up.

"Well, as you already know... my girlfriend has consistently cheated on me. I didn't know this until recently. And you also know that I'm still not over her... even though I should be." he sighs.
