6: I Loved You

"I still feel it."

Waking up this morning felt like such a distant memory.

It started like every other day. Nothing was different, and it was supposed to stay like that. You were going to get through the day with your head down, beside your best friend. Nothing more, nothing less.

If only your morning self could see you now.

Shoved in a high-risk and high-stress situation with basically a bunch of strangers who were now a part of you, in a way.

So far, two people gave their self introductions, Jungkook and Lisa, out of the seven of you that were connected together.

And two other people weren't even accounted for. Jimin was missing with Rose, and Jennie ran away.

Oh, and not to mention the fact that you were all in a building that was in the process of demolition.

No pressure, right?

Lisa was still making an effort to pull herself together after sharing her secret. Luckily, the pain of her emotion died down, and the floor finally started to cease shaking, for at least a moment.

The group of you took that as an opportunity to bolt up the nearby stairs.

Logically, going up was probably a stupid decision, but there wasn't really any options on where to run to. It was almost like the building was designed to carry you all where it wanted to carry you to.

While running up the stairs, you tripped, bracing yourself as much as you could for a rough fall, sadly knowing you were going to hurt the others too upon impact.

But before you reached the ground, a pair of strong arms swooped in to catch you, just in time.

It was Jungkook.

"Hey, I got you. You alright?" he asked.

You blinked, staring at him while still in his arms. You couldn't help but feel awkward, but you were grateful he caught you.

"Y-yeah, thanks. I would've felt so bad if I hurt you all because I'm a klutz." you responded sheepishly.

Jungkook pulled you back up onto your feet, giving you a smile.

"Hey, don't worry about it. We're all a little on edge right now."

You nodded, returning the smile as you both ran to catch up with the rest of the group, who were all waiting at the hall at the top of the stairs.

"You guys all right?" Lisa asks, as the pair of you caught up.

"Yeah, I just tripped a bit on the stairs. All good though." you say.

Lisa smiled in relief.

At that moment, the loudspeaker came to life again, Rose speaking clearly on the other end.
