12: Lisa and Jungkook

"Of course I'm going to protect you. I care about you."

Lisa and Jungkook stood in front of their door, exchanging a glance before Jungkook reached his hand out to the handle.

He gently pulled the door open, and before them stood their maze, their first turn close approaching.

Jungkook made his way forward as Lisa fell into step with him, walking side by side as they slowly made their way through the winding paths. After walking in silence for a few minutes, Lisa decided to break the ice.

"So, um... what are you majoring in?"

"Communications." he replied.

"Cool, cool..." Lisa trailed off, nervously twirling a strand of her hair with her finger.

Jungkook looked down to her. "What about you?"

"Oh! Well, hopefully painting, but my parents don't approve that too much." she said.

"That's pretty cool, I've always liked to do art but it's always been more of a hobby for me."

"Ah, I see."

Awkward silence soon engulfed the pair after this line of conversation, and it was at this moment Lisa came to realize that she was never in a situation where she was alone with him... and somehow, when they were around the others, talking to him always seemed to come easier.

Now, she strangely felt nervous.

"Hey... do you feel the ground shaking?" Jungkook asked.

"I don't think so..."

After saying that though, Lisa did feel a vibration from under her feet.

"Wait, I do. What's happening?" she asked, worry coming into her tone.

"I don't know, let's not panic just yet... maybe it's just an earthquake?" Jungkook responded, looking over to her.

"Just an earthquake? What if... what if it's a monster or something? Like, as part of the test?" Lisa said, on the verge of panic.

"Hey, don't worry. I doubt it's-"

But Jungkook was soon cut off by a loud thundering sound, shaking the ground beneath their feet. Lisa, reacting quickly from fear, grabbed Jungkook's sleeve with shaking hands.

Coming from another pathway, a towering beast that looked like a man that was half human, half bull appeared before the pair, roaring loudly with glowing red eyes.

"Wha- what the hell is that!?" Lisa cried.

Jungkook's eyebrows slanted downward, and quickly pulled Lisa behind him.

"Whatever you do, stay behind me!" he yelled.

Gripped with fear, all she could do is nod aggressively.
