"WE WANT SAFETY"
"WE WANT JUSTICE"
"WE WANT PEACE"
The chanting from outside was unbearable and made Jay close the curtain shut. The sound of protesters from the city was still heard, but at least Hades didn't have to see the sight of them armed with guns and all types of weapons to kill him. The infamous man who had escaped prison and was seen as a threat to society. The people had taken the news of Hades escaping the Lee cell terribly and as if they didn't have an ounce of sympathy in their hearts, they wished for him to go back so that their new and elegant society wasn't affected badly by a man like him. What they didn't want to admit though, was that their thoughts and morals were more harmful to society than Hades actions and feelings.
"Fuck this. Fuck them. Fuck everybody" Jay gritted out as he crunched the "WANTED" poster in his hand with an old picture of Hades. The portrait was old, yet it oozed masculinity and danger like no other. He remembered faintly how he had taken that picture with his mother at a local store in London, back when the whole country accepted them and even prayed to them. His long black locks remained the same, but he supported more facial hair now than he did back then as a youngster. Not to mention the scar he had been gifted by the guards back in the Lee cell was an evident change from before to now.
"How did they now get the news of you being here. It has been years Hades. Surely it must be some rat that is talking piss" Jay continued, even without a response. He had gotten used to that after his best friend had come back from the torture cells. Hades had never been the same and he wasn't even sure if he had a heart or if it was missing somewhere. By his relaxed state in a situation like this, he chose the latter.
"This is bad. Really really bad" was the last thing Jay uttered before the front door was barged open. An embarrassing squeak left Jays mouth which he covered up quickly by a cough. Hades didn't react even though he had catched the sound coming out of Jays mouth.
"OH MY GOD" was the first words that left Allesandras mouth before she dropped the grocery bag on the floor. Her cheeks were flushed as if she had ran a mile as she panted loudly. The boys rushed to her quickly, with Jay holding his pregnant girlfriend upright as Hades collected the bags and locked the front door quickly. The old door squeaked close and he cussed at how ugly flat he had found to settle down in. He couldn't complain though, he had murdered the stalker who had recognized him and decided that the place was good enough for a convict like himself.
"The people have started raiding houses Jay. They are searching for him" she whispered and caressed her bump that was barely noticeable. Her usual witty personality had taken a rest and her caring side was evident. Tears pooled in her eyes and a sob escaped her lips before Jay hugged her tightly and whispered reassuring words into her ear. Hades was left standing in the midst of the shitty and dark flat as he saw how the family he had left was affected by the chaos. Jay was his only friend from his previous life and the harm he was facing didn't sit well with him. Even though he denied feeling, he couldn't ignore that his selflessness wouldn't allow him to do that to his one and only friend.
"Calm down, baby. Everything will be fine. Take a deep breath and explain to us so that we can work this out" Jay tried again and this time Allesandra responded. She nodded her head eagerly and wiped away the tears that stained her flushed cheeks.
"I was shopping for the house until I heard the protesters outside. They were chanting and hanging up posters of Hades with a bounty of millions on his head. I asked the ladies in the shop and they told me that their neighbours had been raided in their homes in the search of him. Everyone there was on the protesters side and agreed to everything. They wanted him to get hanged" was the last sentence that escaped her mouth before new tears pooled into her eyes. Her voice crack was enough of a sign to what was about to occur and Jay quickly pulled her into him again, going back to consoling his pregnant girlfriend.
