«So, you are leaving now?" Jay asked Hades, as he watched the man pack all his belongings from the little flat in boxes. His muscles flexed through his thin fabric shirt as he stretched and lifted the boxes, several at a time.
"Yes. The faster I get this work done, the faster I can leave for home" Hades answered, referring to Italy as his home. Now that the Morettis were out of there, he would be more comfortable in his home country. It would also help to forget the girl that was trapped in his mind.
"You aren't going to wait for the girl? She will be here tomorrow" Jay asked, as he had expected his friend to take the girl with him.
"She won't be coming now" Hades answered, and asked Jay to help him with loading the boxes to the trailer that belonged to his friend, who was currently striving with the boxes.
They both were working quickly and as the flat started getting emptier, he felt scared. It was like getting exposed to the society officially. He had used that flat to hide away and now he would give it up. He had always waited for the moment he could go back home, but now the moment felt bittersweet. He did not want to leave the girl, but he had no other option.
Hades was loading up the last box as Jay spoke up. "I want you to call me or text me every day. If you don't do that in 24 hours, I will come to help. Actually, share your location with me so I can find you easier. That's the only way Allessandra will forgive me for letting you go alone and I will be worried, you know? I-" Jays rambling came to a stop when the sound of a car was heard in a distance.
"Fuck" Hades cursed and quickly closed the car door. "You have to leave" he rushed out to Jay as he pushed him toward the driver seat.
"I won't leave you here alone" Jay said and tried to stand his ground, but Hades was stronger. He had just managed to get the door open until a car dangerously drove up to his street in a speed too fast. It wasn't the car, but the terrible driving he recognized which made his hold on Jay loosen.
"This is going to be ugly" he mumbled as he expected for her to come and slap the daylight out of him. He wondered if she had told her family, but something told him that she wouldn't. She probably wanted James first, he thought.
Just as he expected, she parked horribly before stumbling out in her black dress that was fit for a funeral. She was raging as she stormed up to Hades and pushed him harshly. Jay who was now standing there, whistled at that.
"You fucking idiot! Do you even know what you have done?!" she shrieked, pushing him again, using all her energy on her hands that were pressing on his toned chest.
"Gattina-" Hades started, until he was cut off.
"Don't gattina me. My name is Celina Moretti and you are....you are" she struggled to continue. Suddenly, saying his name in front of him felt surreal. "Hades" he uttered for her, taking her hand from his chest to clutching it in his own. She struggled to break free, but he pulled her closer. "Say it or are you too scared, huh Celina Moretti?" he whispered in her ear. A shiver passed through her body and she didn't back down. "Hades. If you think that I will thank you for literally killing Sebastian, you are crazy. Do you know that he nearly died? He is hospitalized for a month! He could have died and then the Easters would be after your ass for two murders!" she lectured him.
Hades watched her in amusement: "Hey Jay" he called, looking back at his friend who was smirking. "I never knew that I would enjoy the sound of my name in an Easters mouth"
Celina scowled, trying to pull back. "Did you even listen you what I said?" she asked frustrated, blowing the hair that was coming in front of her face.
Hades used his hand to push back her hair sensually and caressed her bottom lip. Celina went still in his arms, not knowing what to say. "I did it for you and then I did it for me. So, I won't lie to you and say that I regret it, because I don't" he confessed, forgetting that his friend was third wheeling them.
"It wouldn't be the first time you would lie to me" she snapped, suddenly getting angry for the betrayal from his part. She had it rough and the last thing her heart could battle was both a heartbreak and betrayal. Hades narrowed his eyes at her, getting angry himself. If anything, she should have been thanking him because he had helped her by postponing a wedding she did not agree to. Not only that, but he had threatened Sebastian for him to treat her good after he left.
"Ooooh, this is a feisty one, brother" Jay chuckled, and the two lovebirds snapped their head to him. Jay surrendered his hands and backed off. "This conversation should be happening inside the house. We have a loyal audience member" he said as he pointed to their neighbor that Celina was familiar with, the molester.
Hades quickly stood in front of Celina, covering her so that the neighbor wouldn't see the girl in the dark. He turned towards the girl and gently pulled her away from the sight of the neighbor. "Why are you here?" he asked her, wanting to know why she had came back.
"Oh, yeah" Celina remembered why she had come. "Ryder was found in the East, dead. They are having a little funeral for him before they come here to his flat. Sebastian is livid and has told everyone that you almost killed him, and they know it's you. They are on their way"
The three of them stood in shock for a moment before Hades ordered. "You have to leave and don't come back. You understand me? I will contact you myself. Don't do anything stupid" he said as he pointed at Jay. His friend nodded before jumping into the truck, getting ready to drive away.
He then turned to Celina. "You will go home" he said and started walking towards his own car. He was surprised that she didn't object, and he turned around to watch her. She nodded and looked at him longingly. "You forgot to lock the door".
Hades sighed out loudly and nodded, going back to lock the door. When he had come back, she wasn't there. He felt bummed out that she had gone without saying farewell, but it was for the best. He sucked in a deep breath and released the air stuck in his lungs where his heart beat had started slowing down. He looked back at the now empty flat and his heart felt heavier. It was the last time he would be in front of the flat he had spent years in hiding. The feeling was so unknown to himself and he therefore shook it off and stalked towards his car. Not caring about his whereabouts, but only on getting out of the area. He raced down the streets of the West, getting deeper and deeper into the area.
Just as he left deeper into the West for the hunt after James, Lorenzo ordered for guards to be on the airport, at the board and everywhere else in the East. Moretti wanted full safety of his people, but that led him to have few men for the job. The remaining guards, where those who were the most trusted and had been Morettis guards since his gang life. Blake and Patrick were in that group and they got the job of finding Ryders whereabouts. Patrick did not utter a word about what he knew about the prisoner and pretended to be as clueless as the others.
As all of them were waiting for Lorenzo to come back down, they were surprised when their capo called out: "BLAKE, COME HERE". Blake did as told and when he entered the office of his ex-mafia leader, he saw him standing there with an empty file in his hands.
