"oh god, i need to go to the gym." annie said, looking down at her stomach as she laid in bed and pumped. typically after giving birth, a woman's stomach can still look like she's a few months pregnant.
"you gave birth 2 weeks ago babe." hayden said, then put on his sweats.
"yet i can't have sex with you yet." annie said, running her fingers down his abs.
"damn you're sexy." hayden smiled.
"yeah cause a woman who just gave birth and has stretch marks, plus is pumping milk for your son, is so sexy." annie said, but hayden didn't care. he saw her as the sexiest woman alive, even if she was covered in mud.
they kissed, but only for a few seconds. annie was done pumping so she put the milk in the mini fridge by their bed. it's great since annie doesn't have to get up. annie put her shirt back on and then looked at sawyer in his crib next to her.
layla was asleep in her own room finally. sure they lived having her in bed with them but she moves like crazy and wakes up when sawyer wakes up.
—
annie woke up after having a crazy dream. her dream was layla, around 10 years old, yelling at her and hayden taking her away after annie and hayden divorced. the judge ruled layla to go with hayden, and then layla yelling at annie. it was a nightmare.
she couldn't sleep the rest of the night. especially because of sawyer waking up.
once hayden woke up, annie was on her laptop in the dining room. he grabbed a mug and poured his coffee. "hay?" she called, making him look towards her.
"yes?" he asked, then took a sip of coffee.
"i called a lawyer, and um, i. i don't know how to say this-"
"what is it?" hayden asked, then annie blurted it out.
"i don't want you to take layla away!" annie blurted it out.
hayden was caught off guard, "what?"
"i love layla, she's my baby girl. i-i just don't want her to be taken away from me in the future because of dna." annie said, a tear falling.
"i will never take her away from you." hayden said, wiping her tear, but annie got up.
"you say that now but break ups happen. fights happen. i don't want it to be ten years in the future, we're battling in court for the custody of layla." annie said, then sawyer started crying. "we'll talk more later."
