(a few months later)the morning of christmas eve awoke hayden, well also his daughter who was already up beside him. "morning baby." he said, picking her up then placing her on his hip. he then went to her nursery, and changed her diaper.
they were back in Texas and flying to LA tonight but spending christmas eve here with family. hayden had to be in LA for a film he was casted in. layla was now 5 months old, and looked just like her father and of course like her mother.
they spent the day with their family, but then hayden and layla, along with jimmy and Tisha, headed on a plane. layla was already spoiled rottened in Texas, and hayden knew what would happen back in la.
they arrived at their la home around 3 am. hayden put layla in her nursery and went to bed himself.
the next morning was christmas. hayden got out of bed and went to layla's nursery seeing she was already awake and happy. "good morning baby." hayden whispered, picking her up and then went over to the changing table to change her. he put her into a christmas onesie and then wrapped a fluffy blanket around her and walked out to the balcony in his room. "merry first christmas baby," he said, showing her the amazing view from their home.
he walked downstairs, seeing his parents already downstairs making breakfast. "good morning." they both greeted, then jimmy held layla as hayden went to the bathroom.
he came out and then the four all ate breakfast, and hayden fed layla a homemade baby food breakfast with even some applesauce. "the ziegler's invited us over later around 11." tisha said, taking a bite of her pancake.
it was around 9 by the time they finished, and it takes about an hour, including la traffic, to get to the ziegler's house. jimmy watched layla as tisha and hayden got ready.
hayden put on a pair of black pants along with a white shirt with a little christmas tree. he put on a leather jacket and then his shoes. he did his hair and dried it after his shower.
"dad, you can go ahead and get ready. i can get her ready." hayden said, then took his daughter to her nursery.
he put her into an adorable red christmas dress he got her. he then put a red bow on her and then her little socks and shoes. she couldn't walk but the shoes are adorable. "let's go!" tisha said as hayden placed layla into her car seat.
they made it just a few minutes later than expected, but la traffic sucks. "hey- oh layla!" melissa immediately took layla out of haydens arms, giving her a few kisses.
"anyway, merry christmas!" maddie and kenzie greeted them, letting them in.
greg was taking out cookies and maliboo was laying down in her new bed melissa splurged on. "we were just finishing with the gifts. maliboo just finished." maddie explained, then they all sat down and tisha handed each of them a few gifts.
"time for layla's turn!" melissa cheered, placing layla down and into haydens lap.
melissa handed her a large box, placing it in front of the child. hayden helped open it, and revealed a box that held a large doll house. it costed $2,300 which was totally unnecessary. "wow, this is amazing huh baby?" hayden said, then thanked melissa and greg.
"ok, my turn!" maddie said, hurrying to grab her box then handing it to hayden and layla. opening it, inside was a brand new ipad along with a few accessories.
everyone went around, handing layla the gifts. kenzie got her many clothes, shoes, and hair bows. the summeralls exchanged gifts with the ziegler's as well.
they all ate and hung out.

around 6:45 pm, kenzie was burping layla in her room with maddie and hayden. "i invited annie and hayley if that's alright? it's been their first time during the holidays since their parents have officially been divorced so they're coming with their mom." kenzie said, making hayden look up, but then nod. he'd been talking with annie a few times a week but since kenzie's party they haven't seen each other in real life.
soon enough, the door bell rang and layla started to cry. maddie held her and put a pacifier in her mouth as they all walked to the living room. "the leblancs are here!" melissa yelled, then let the family in. "oh, tisha and jimmy had to drop off some things at home, they'll be back soon." melissa told them.
in came in hayley first, wearing a large coat and black pants. annie was right behind her, wearing a pair of white jeans and then a large hoodie with a little christmas tree on the right side. katie then came in, wearing a large faux fur jacket with blue jeans. "merry christmas!" they exchanged, then melissa took their coats and put them on the coat rack.
"come, the cookies are delicious! greg just took them out of the oven and some are ready to pipe!" melissa cheered.
"mom we're not kids-" maddie got interrupted by kenzie.
"who cares? it's cookies!" kenzie shouted, making layla fuss a bit. "oh, sorry layla."
"come! let's make some cookies." katie said, then they all proceeded to the kitchen.
"hayden," annie said, pulling him behind. "can we talk?" she asked, and he nodded, giving kenzie a look they'd go to her room, making her nod.
they went to her room, not noticing they were holding hands. cheesy.
"i know you said layla is your priority-"
hayden stopped her, "annie, it's christmas. i know we've been talking about this, but how about we enjoy today. ok? nothing messy today." hayden said, pulling back a hair out of her face.
"i love you." annie whispered.
"i love you too, merry christmas anns." they shared a small kiss, then hayden said, "ok, forget what i said," he laughed, making her laugh. "will you be my g-"
"yes." she answered, then kissed him, accidentally transferring a bit of lipgloss to his lips. laughing, she wiped it off then they walked out, acting as if nothing happened.
