the next day, hayden was still in shock. his mom brought out an old crib thing for the night, but the next day they were gonna go out shopping. they didn't have much, or anything. so while dylan and brec stayed home with the baby, tisha and hayden went to go to the baby store, along with jimmy and jimmy.
hayden just needed a bit of a break, after the total shock. they first went to the baby store. buying the best stroller, car seat, and everything else. tons of clothes, like a lot. at least 20 plain white onesies, and about a thousand other clothes that probably won't fit her tomorrow. tisha just went nuts over the girls section, since she only had boys.
they got a crib, a crib mattress, a changing table, you name it. they went to target next, buying a ton more there. such as sheets, more bottles, formula, diapers, wipes, and lots more. even a bottle warmer?
once they got home after a couple hours, layla was asleep so they started to work on the nursery which was right next to hayden's room. dylan's room was there, but he emptied it out since he lived in an apartment with brec anyway.
they all started to work on it. decorating, building, and in a few more hours, they were done. layla woke up just in time. "i got her." hayden said, then went to his parents room where she was taking her nap. "hey baby." he whispered to her as he picked her up. "i'm your daddy. it's ok." hayden whispered softly, holding her to his chest, swaying a bit which calmed her down.
walking to the nursery, it was just perfect. a rocking chair in the corner, a changing table, a beautiful crib, and everything a baby needs. it was covered in pictures all around. and on the changing table, was a picture of celeste, her mother.
"that is your mommy. she's not here with us right now, but she loves you. you look so much like her. you would've loved her. she was the kindest girl i've ever met. but i'm sure you met her before she had to go." hayden whispered softly to his daughter, who was back asleep. "i bet you'll be a spitting image of her when you're older."
tisha came in with a bottle, handing it to her son and kissing his and her granddaughter's forehead, before walking out. hayden fed his daughter, smiling as he fully understood the whole situation and was peace with it.
