"annie?" hayden questioned, seeing the brunette standing there, looking so perfect she looked like she just came back from a magazine.
"hey," hayden was gonna shut the door but she put her hand for him to stop. "i'm here to apologize." annie said, her eyes flickering over layla for a second. "please."
"fine, come in." hayden groaned, then she walked in, and he closed the door. they walked over to the couch, hayden put layla in her swing, which moved depending on the setting.
"i wanna apologize about my behavior at vidcon. i- i wasn't thinking, and i felt guilty." annie started off, folding her hands together. "i realized how much i hurt you when you posted that. it made me open my eyes and notice where i was at, and how much i've changed." annie said, trying not to cry.
"annie, you're not here just because of a comment. that's a call. something- something happened." hayden said.
"asher- we've been together for a couple years already, he keeps wanting to rush things, and i don't. h-he is over 18, and i legally can't either. it's- i don't know, i broke up with him. he was pressuring me to do things- i wasn't ready for. it made me realize how much he made me do things, and i get it, i could've stood up, but i'm a fu-freaking loser for love." annie said, trying not to cry. "anyway. i know what i did, really was horrible, a-and stupid. i guess i wasn't myself."
hayden took it all in, looking at his daughter. "w-wait, 2 years and y'all never-" hayden said in a confused face.
"we never," annie replied, with a bit of a laugh, making both of them laugh.
"can't relate." hayden said, pointing to layla.
"can i hold her?" annie asked, and he nodded. picking up layla, he then carefully placed her in annie's arms. "i haven't held a baby in a while, it feels like." annie said, then layla started to cry after a few seconds.
"it's ok," hayden said, taking layla in his arms.
layla calmed down, falling asleep with her pacifier. hayden laid her down in her automatic swing, and then went back to annie. "i should probably-"
"it's fine, you can stay." hayden said, and annie nodded. "you can tell me more, i feel pretty lonely, especially when she's
sleeping." hayden said, and annie let out a sigh. "i'm still, wow, i can't believe it. two years!""i know, i know. i don't know why i didn't, besides not feeling ready, i don't get why. he loved me, and i loved him." annie said puzzled.
"he just wasn't the right one." hayden replied, looking at her. "i get it, i never rushed into anything, but i never rejected anything. the only person i was with was, layla's mom." hayden said, with a slight chuckle.
"who was she?" annie asked.
"her name was celeste, layla looks so much like her. she was 16," hayden started.
"was?" annie asked.
"we broke up about 8 months ago. turns out she was pregnant, but didn't tell me. but, she died after giving birth. i woke up, and ended up with a baby. her side didnt want anything to do with her, which broke my heart, because i don't ever want her to question her mom's side." hayden said, his head low.
"hey, you'll find someone to be a mother figure for her. i mean we always hear about teenage mothers with deadbeat baby daddies. you're 16, and have a baby girl, without her mother." annie tried to cheer him up, rubbing his back.
when their eyes met once again,
they knew something was gonna happen. "annie, w-we can't." hayden stuttered, but they didn't stop moved closer.but once their lips came close
