Nobodies POV
Elena walks down the stairs into the basement with a bag. She approaches the door to one of the cells and peers through the barred door window.
"Alaric?" Elena ask "Yep. Still me." Alaric says
Elena unlocks the door and enters the cell. Alaric is sitting on a cot in the room.
"You know, you shouldn't be in here. It defeats the point of the whole being locked in a cellar thing." Alaric says
Elena drops the bag on the ground.
"Well, you still need the basics. Toothbrush, clothes, some boring books to help you sleep." Elena says
Alaric picks up one of the books and hands it to Elena.
"Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?" Alaric ask "What? No, I grabbed....Damon." Elena says. Drops the book on the floor.
"Thinks he's hilarious." Elena says "At least one of us still has a sense of humor." Alaric says
"Are you sure that you...? I mean you don't have to be kept in here." Elena says
"Ah, no, this is...this is the right place for me to be. At least until you guys can convince my highly uncooperative alter ego to fess up to where I or he hid the white oak stake." Alaric says
"We looked everywhere. You....the other you, hid it well." Elena says "What's Klaus gonna do if you can't find it?" Alaric ask
"It's the only thing that will kill him, so wage war, murder people, you know Klaus stuff." Elena says
Elena pulls up a chair and sits down in it.
"Listen, Stefan is gonna watch over you for a little while. Stefans also going to call Daenerys, maybe she can help." Elena says
"I don't think she'll want to help after what Damon did to her daughter. I wouldn't want to help." Alaric says
"Trust me she's going to come, she likes you and I can see how much you like her. Even though she has a bad blood line, doesn't mean she is a bad person." Elena says
Alaric smiles "she'll put her family first, you do know that." Alaric ask "it's what makes her a good person. I do the same." Elena says
"Anyways now that Klaus knows where Jeremy is, it's not safe so, Damon and I are gonna go to Denver to pick him up." Elena says
"Why do you say that like you're waiting for me to disapprove?" Alaric ask "I don't know. Me and Damon. Traveling across the country." Elena says
"I guess I'm more curious to hear what Stefan has to say about it." Alaric says
"Actually, it was his idea. He thinks that I have some unresolved feelings for Damon." Elena says
"Do you?" Alaric ask
"I guess that's why I'm going on this trip. So I can figure it out." Elena says "and what if you find out he no longer feels those type of emotions towards you." Alaric says
"What do you mean." Elena ask
"As much as it gets me jealous or angry, I see the way Damon looks at Daenerys." Alaric says
"Well this trip is going to get a whole lot more interesting then." Elena says
....
Upstairs, Stefan is standing in front of the fireplace, staring into the flames. Damon is bringing luggage down for the trip.
"You hear from Klaus?" Damon ask "Not yet. I'm sure I will soon though." Stefan says
Stefan picks up the white oak stake. "He's expecting me to deliver two stakes, I only have one." Stefan says
"Well, that's gonna be disappointing for him." Damon says "I'll get it out of Alaric. I just need some time." Stefan says
"I like that confidence, Stefan. I don't share it, but I like it." Damon says
"You don't think I can do what it takes." Stefan says
"Well, you're good Stefan again. You're in control. Sorry, you might get the girl but you lose the edge. Speaking of..." Damon says
Elena walks into the room.
"Have you ever flown first class?" Damon ask "Who did you have to compel for that?" Elena says
"Pft, please. I use miles." Damon says Damon picks up the luggage and walks out the door.
Elena looks at Stefan. "Stefan..." Elena trails off "Be safe." Stefan says, Elena stares at him for a moment, and then walks out the door.
....
Outside, Damon is completely frozen. "Why is Daenerys here." Damon ask "she's here to help Alaric." Elena says, passing him at the door.
Damon swallows as he stares down at the woman his heart beats for.
Daenerys walks foward, not acknowledging him. Brushing past him. But as she passes her eyes close briefly.
....
Daenerys enters the basement and goes over to the cellar which Alaric is being kept in. Alaric is lying on the cot with his eyes closed.
"Do you know how hard it is to fall asleep when that is what you're supposed to do?" Alaric ask
Daenerys smiles "I wouldn't know love, I don't sleep." Daenerys says
Alaric's head snaps up "Daenerys." Alaric breaths
"Well, look, I know it's not easy so..." Daenerys trails
Daenerys holds up a whiskey bottle.
"Stefan suggested that I bring something to help speed up the process." Daenerys says
"Why are you here." Alaric ask "I'm here darling." Daenerys says, sweetly.
Alaric sits up and puts the Moby Dick book that's open on his chest on the bed next to him as Daenerys enters the cell.
Daenerys smiles and she hands the bottle to Alaric and goes to grab a chair.
"You know, I'll feel decidedly less pathetic if I don't drink alone." Alaric says
"Oh, I am one step ahead of you." Daenerys says
She shows Alaric a glass and sits down in the chair. She holds her glass out and Alaric pours some whiskey in it. They both drink, Daenerys from the glass, and Alaric from the bottle.
"So, your here?" Alaric ask "I care about you Alaric, of course I'm here, I even let Stefan listen to every word that comes out of my mouth." Daenerys says
"Sorry." Came a small reply from within the mansion
Alaric and Daenerys chuckle.
"Why? I mean, Damon hurt Rebekah? You know, it doesn't take much to babysit me while I sit here waiting for a psychotic break." Alaric says
"You didn't hurt her and unfortunately, love, we only have a limited amount of time." Daenerys says "Before what?" Alaric ask "Before we have to resort to other methods." Daenerys says
"So, you're worried that you're gonna have to torture me. You don't think Damon or Stefan could have done that?" Alaric ask
"Stefan believed that if there is anyone who can have you go crazy or whatever you people phrase it, he believes it's me. I'm here by your side, you'll have to deal with it." Daenerys says
"Not a hard feat." Alaric teases
Daenerys smiles.
