Boy next door pt 2

"Where is that brat?" Nini spoke, while looking for her best friend, Ricky. Her and Ricky became best friends after he moved next door, six months ago. Nini had heard Ricky got into a fight with some kid named, Axel.

"Nini, he's fine, don't be so dram- you know, I'm not even gonna try." Her friend Kourtney said. "Richard Bowen!" Nini shouted, "Your so screwed..." She could hear the guy next to him, also known as Ej, say. "Wait I- Ow, ow!" Ricky said, while Nini was dragging him outside by his ear.

"What is wrong with you!" Nini shouted, hitting Ricky's shoulder. "You could have gotten really hurt, you already have a bruised lip from skateboarding, it's like your trying to get hurt!" She said, hitting him even more. "Okay one, please stop hitting me, and two, I'm sorry but he deserved it, he-" "I don't care what he did, the fact that your the one who started the fight, makes me upset!" "But Nin-" Ricky was interrupted by the bell, making him roll his eyes.

"I got to get to class...bye Ricky." Ricky knew she was still mad, so he just hoped that he could talk to her after school.

"Did he win though?"

"Kourtney, that's not the point!" Nini told Kourtney, who was only interested in knowing if Ricky won the fight or not. "Well the point is, is that you need to forgive him, Axel deserved it!" "Why is everyone saying that?" "You don't know why Ricky did it?" Nini shook her head.

"Nini...Ricky overheard Axel and his friends talking about how Axel would try and ask you out on a date then dump you..."

Nini was shocked, a wave of guilt rushed over her. "I should go find him..." "Yeah and then tell me if he won!" Nini gave her a glare.

"Ricky!" Nini whispered trying to get her best friends attention. It was currently ten am, and her mom's were already asleep, and Nini didn't feel like getting in trouble. Nini was looking out her window waiting for Ricky to respond.

"I know your awake....your most likely writing a song about how you feel." Nini said, then Ricky looked out his window. "How do you know that?" "I know everything!" Ricky rolled his eyes and signaled for Nini to come over.

Since there houses were really close together, all Nini had to do was hop on a tree branch, and through his window.

"Be careful please!" Ricky hated when Nini jumped onto the tree branch, he thought it was that steady and could snap any moment, Nini always thought he was being paranoid.

"Finally, you know, I think your right, that tree is-" Nini noticed Ricky giving her a look. "Oh right...why i'm here..." Nini sat next to Ricky on his bed and it became silent.

"I'm sorry that I yelled at you for getting into a fight with Ax...ax..what was it?" "Axel." "Right, I'm sorry I yelled at you, I should've asked you why you fought him first." "So you know?" "Yeah, and Ricky, I want you to know that, I can take care of myself." "I know you can, it's just..I got so mad of the thought of him trying to play with your feelings and I guess I just snapped..." "It's not like I would've went out with him anyway, I barely know him." Once again the silence.

"So how do you know about the whole songwriting thing?" "I may or may not have looked in your backpack and saw a notebook with a bunch of songs..." Nini slightly whispered. "Please tell me you read none of them." "Totally...so who's the girl?" Nini asked excited, "Nini!" "I'm sorry but I just couldn't help it, the song was really good and romantic!" "You think it was romantic?" "Totally, you need to sing the song to her!" Ricky sighed, he knew what song she was talking about because it was the song Ricky had written for her.

"I'll pass.." "Practice singing it on me!" Ricky sighed again. "You see, I kinda made the song a duet because the girl has a really amazing voice."

Nini felt a slight wave of jealousy but ignored it. "I can sing it, now where's the book, I have a bad memory." Ricky laughed and went and grabbed the notebook, placing it in front of Nini. Ricky showed her which parts to sing.

"I fell in love with the only girl who knows what I'm about." "I fell in love with a boy and I can't tell if I fell out. After all is said and done, I can't just pretend I'm moving on." "Is it just a part were playing cause it don't feel like were faking." "When were underneath the lights, my hearts no longer broken, for a moment, just for a moment, when were singing side by side, there's so much left unspoken, for a moment, just for a moment, a moment in love, a moment in love, but is a moment enough?" 

As Ricky kept singing, Nini just stared at him. Nini always knew that her feelings toward Ricky were confusing but right now, she felt like them to were the only humans left on earth. 

"Always dreamed it was you and me until the en-" 

Nini cut Ricky off by gently grabbing his face making him face her. It was quiet, they were just looking at each other, Ricky was slightly confused but didn't question it. "I uh..didn't know what to do, for the girl's verse so I just went with whatever sounded good..." "I liked it, the girl is very lucky.." "Nah, I think i'm the lucky one." 

As soon as he finished his sentence, he smashed it lips against hers. They both felt butterflies in there stomach right when their lips connected. Nini realized how she felt for Ricky, she didn't know why she just realized it. 

As they both part, they saw the smiles on the others face. "So, I did what you told me to do." Nini looked at him confused. "I sang the song to the girl.." Nini realized what he meant and her smile grew wider. 

"Well she loved it."
