JUST BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO OFFEND ANYONE, I CAN NOT SPEAK SPANISH AND I MAINLY GOT THIS FROM YOUTUBE

In this Universe, you only get three chances. Three chances for love.

You start off with three red hearts on your wrist when your born, and each time you fall out of love, a heart disappears. Well for Nini, her love life wasn't going so well.

She wasted one heart in first grade, when she fell in love with a boy from school who ended up moving away when second grade came around. Then she fell in love with a boy in sixth grade. He ended up being gay. Now Nini was down to one heart, well not anymore.

"Nini, I'm sorry but it's not gonna work out." She read aloud from her phone screen.

Ashlyn's eyes widen. "Nini you have no more hearts!" "Stupid first grade me falling for a stupid first grade boy." Ashlyn gave Nini a hug. "It's fine, boys and love is a waste of time anyway." She sighed.

"Easy for you to say, you found Red freshman year!" Nini tossed her books into her locker. Next period was about to start and she wasn't in the mood for speaking spanish.

"Maybe seeing Mrs Diaz will help, you are the teachers pet." Nini shoved her playfully.

Once the bell rang Nini screamed in frustration, earning some weird looks. Ashlyn took her hand and dragged her to the classroom. "Buenas tardes Nina!" Mrs Diaz greeted.

"sí, sí..." Mrs Diaz laughs at her Spanish. "What's wrong?" She asks, Nini just shrugs at her and sits down toward the back. "Well then, Class to-" Then the door open loudly, turning heads.

"Hola!" "Hello, is this Spanish A?" The curly headed boy asked. Mrs Diaz nodded, "You may go sit next to Nina." Nini raised her hand slightly then put it down, lazily. The boy went to the back and sat at the desk next to her.

"Hi I'm Ricky!" He held out his hand. "You already know my name." Nini didn't bother to take his hand. He chuckled at the gesture.

Mrs Diaz began to explain the assignment and Nini noticed Ricky having trouble. "Your having trouble between Te amo and Te quiero." He gave her a confused look. "What's the difference?"

Nini laughed. "Te quiero is more 'I like you' while Te amo is more 'I love you'." Ricky nodded. "Heads up, I can't speak Spanish at all." Nini laughed one again. "Your parents made you choose this as an elective?" Ricky nodded.

Throughout the class, Ricky kept distracting Nini. Their playful act ended up making Ricky go to the front of the class and speak of something he learned. Nini tried to hold her laugh in when Ricky froze.

"Well actually, I was trying to learn a sentence and Nini was helping me..." Nini's eyes widen. "Well then, Nina would you like to come up here?"

"Am I allowed to say no?"

Mrs Diaz shook her head and Nini sighed. She walked up beside Ricky who was grinning widely. "So?" Mrs Diaz asked. "Well Ricky let's see how far you got in the sentence." "Maybe you should repeat it so I have a better understanding of the pronunciation."

"Has cometido el mismo error otra vez." Ricky's eyes widen.

"Well Ricky?" Nini asked. "Well you see I-I..." The teacher sighed. "Your new so I'll let you pass and good job Nina!" Nini grins and sits back down in her seat. "Your pure evil." He whispered to her.

"Well thank you." He playfully rolled his eyes. Nini noticed his wrist and saw he had two hearts left. She covered her wrist with her sleeve when she realized he could have noticed hers. "How long until this class is over?"

"We have like twenty minutes left, usually for the last ten minutes she lets us go to our lockers." "Why?" Nini laughed. "Because the hallways get chaotic quickly." He just nods and lays his head on the desk.

"Stop staring, it isn't polite." She said, noticing he was looking at her. "I'm still new here so, maybe we can hang out later?" He said, shyly. "When is your free period?" He checked his schedule.

"After lunch." He told her. "Okay, meet me on the basketball court during free period." 'Why the basketball court?" He asked, confused. "Because I can show you my skills." He laughed but agreed anyway.

⚡️

"Welcome to the court of magic!" Nini said, a ball in her a hand. "Magic?" He asked. "Magic because you'll need a miracle to beat me!" He laughed. She tossed the basketball up and shrieked when it came back down, almost hitting her.

"I think you need a miracle." Ricky chuckled. He dribbled the ball down the court, doing a floater and making the basket. "You suck!" She said. "I'll help you..." Ricky gently grabbed her wrist and pulled her in front of him. "You are so cliche!" Nini giggled. "Some girls like that." He winked.

As he helped her with her position, she just tossed up the ball, making a basket. "I did it! I gonna make it into the WNBA now!" He laughed.

"Totally." Ricky took her arm and they sat towards the middle of the court. "Were sitting? Okay." She laughed, laying her head on his lap. "Getting comfortable I see?" She giggled.

"So let's get to know each other because all I know about you is your bad at Spanish." He laughed. "Well I moved from Chicago, my favorite color is green and I like skateboarding." Nini rolled her eyes playfully. "You sound kinda boring." He pretends to be hurt by the comment.

"Well what about you Miss Not boring." "I've lived in Salt Lake all my life, I love theater and Harry Styles, I also talk in a vague British accent when I'm nervous." He laughed. "Minus the British accent, your boring too!" She shook her head.

"Says the skater boy," "But I must admit the curly hair makes up for the personality."

"So, do you have a boyfriend..?" Ricky saw her tense up a bit. "If I had a boyfriend, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be in this position right now." She laughed. "What about you, you seem charming enough?"

He showed her his wrist. "Fell in love once, fell out of love once, boring love life since." She just nodded. Nini envied Ricky, he still had two chances left while she didn't even have one. "Who was the lucky gal?"

"Someone from my freshman year, I can barely remember half of our time together." Nini could tell he wanted to ask about her wrist but held himself back. "If were gonna make this friendship work, don't be afraid to ask me a question." She giggled.

"Okay fine, how many hearts do you have left?" Nini pulled up her sleeve, showing her plain wrist. "I'm fine now, but I do blame my first grade self for falling in love." Instead of responding, Ricky went through his backpack and pulled out a red pen.

He gently drew a red heart on her wrist and Nini watched in Awe. "There, now you have one more heart."

"I don't think that's how it works but i'll take it." He grinned. "Don't worry, I'll make you fall in love soon and you won't even realize you love until somehow a heart appears on your wrist." "Let's hope it looks better than this, this looks like an octagon!' He gasped.

"If your gonna throw shade, at least get your shapes right, it's more of a heart that a someone in kindergartner drew." "Kindergartners have more talent than this." He playfully punched her arm but she just laughed away, while he traced his thumb over the red heart.
