Hanji's POV

Levi and I were too busy playing with each other that... I've forgotten... about what will happen... today... I didn't want to leave Levi... not not... not ever. He was... too happy. A smile that would never fade away in my mind. I let him distract me from the world... but of course, everything had to end quickly. Even our relationship.

"Hanji," someone calls my name gently, "time to go."

"No... I don't wanna..." I began to complain, not wanting to leave. The fear in Levi's gray eyes... I felt so bad. I didn't want to... I didn't want to leave him behind. All the other boys got adopted, so it was just him left. "Please... not unless we can get Levi too!"

The woman speaking to me shook her head, "I'm sorry, Hanji... but he can't. Your new family, they won't take him in. Just you, Hanji. I'm sorry..."

I turned down to look at Levi... and there was tears. But he shook his head, trying to hold back the tears. "I-It's okay, Hanji... you have a family now..." Deep inside, I know that he was hurting... he didn't want me to leave. "Go... we're still friends... right?"

I felt a painful smile tugging at my lips. My head was reluctant to nod. My heart was pounding so badly... and my mind... oh, how it screamed at me to not leave. If I could, I would've brought Levi with me... but I can't. I wanted to cry and tell him that it'll be alright... but it does nothing. Only to bring up hope, but with Levi... he needed the truth and not hope.

"Yeah, we're still friends..."

"Don't forget me, okay?"

"I won't."

We began to kiss goodbye and gathered all my things. Levi, especially, took care of my two dolls: Sawney and Bean. He carefully handed them to me, as if they were kids. My new parents were calling me out, telling me to go. But I didn't want to leave. I stayed with Levi, holding his hand. From the both of us, tears were beginning to flood. We we friends... and we liked each other...

"Hanji!"

"Go with them..." Levi says, holding my hand and quickly giving me a kiss on my lips. "We'll see each other soon enough... I know that for sure."

I nodded my head, slowly looking back. "Okay then... Levi..."

"Goodbye..."

Once more, we parted ways and kissed each other. I crawled into the car, looking back to Levi. The dolls were in my arms as I poked my head out the window. All the other kids were waving their hands in the air, and Levi... he was just standing there... almost holding his heart.

Loud cheers of, "Bye!" "I love you!" "Have fun!" echoed outside, and the car was starting up. We pulled forward, and Levi began to run.

"Hanji!" He calls out, continuing to run. My head poked out more, and the dolls slowly slipped out of my arms. "Hanji!" He repeats. Far in the distance, he picks up the dolls and continues to call out. "I love you!"

"I love you too!" I cried, turning a corner... and he was gone. We were taken away from each other.

Falling into my seat, I rolled up the windows, and sighed softly. A tear slowly ran down my cheek, I would never see him again... my dolls were gone... but I knew they would be safe with Levi. I remember his little kiss on my lips... and so, I made a promise to myself: I will return here when I can. I will find Levi. And that would be my promise... to return back here.
