The four kings and queens galloped through the thick woods, following a mystical light of blue fire. The legend said that the Will O' The Wisps only presented themselves to the bravest of heroes, and those who followed it were to find the most sublime of destinies. The siblings had been hunting on the western side of the forest when they witnessed the blue light, and since they always considered legends to be mere truth, they rode their steeds and dragon and followed the spirit. As they rushed through the trees, the terrain got harder and darker, and out of a sudden, the otherworldly light dissappeared.

"Fair consort, do you think we have lost track of it?" Asked Queen Merida to King Hiccup.

The latter dismounted his black dragon and looked around.

"Do not think so, honorable sister." anwsered the king, "The light abandonned us to our fate."

The other royals mimicked their brother and dismounted each thier steeds. The blonde, known as Queen Rapunzel, petted her loyal unicorn, Maximus, as she placed her feet against the muddy ground.

"Pardon me, but I feel like I  know this place" said Queen Rapunzel, "Though it is too blurry..."

"As the dream inside a dream" Finished King Jack.

All nodded at this statement, walking around warily. They stumbled upon an odd object that seemed to belong to a different life they had lived long ago. It was a lantern with an everlasting light shinning in the middle of the forest.

"Wait... I know this... Miss Amblin?" Muttered Rapunzel, suddenly rushing to a thicker part of the forest guided by only the dim light of the torchlight. All siblings followed her, running as well. The deeper they got in between the branches, they begun noticing how the textures around them  changed.

"These aren't trees" said Hiccup, struggling amongst the obstacles.

"Jack, yer steppin' on ma foot" said Merida, suddenly speaking in a way she hadn't sponken in ages. It all came rushing through her head like an old lullaby.

"We're surrounded in coats!" Noticed Jack, startled at the sudden lack of air around them.

The siblings kept struggling as the space got smaller and smaller, until Jack crashed against a hard wood door and it collapsed, letting the kings and queens hit a dusty floor in the middle of an attic as ancient as their past lives.

They looked around confusedly, taking in the sights. They were in a dirty room, filled to the brim with odd objects such as piled up matresses, broken porcelain dolls, worn furniture and gnawed bedsheets.

A heavy feeling sat in their stomachs as memories of their old lives came rushing to their heads. They didn't get enough time to think, for they heard heavy footsteps in their direction and the trapdoor opened, revealing the angry wrinkled face of Miss Amblin looking severely at the four children.

They looked horrified at their old master, but instead of getting lectured, Miss Amblin's expression turned sweet and asked the children to come.

"Ah, my mischevious quartet, didn't you hear?" said Amblin as the kids followed her down the stairs and out of the attic. "There is this lovely couple interested in adopting the four of you."

The kids looked at each other and then at their nurse in disbelief.

"All four of us?" Asked Jack, still dumbfounded at all that had happened in the matter of minutes, or years?

"Oh yes." Nodded the old lady excitedly, "Professor Disney was kind enough to tell Peter and Wendy Darling all about you, and how much you loved each other. Walt even insisted that if any of you were to be adopted, the other three had to come along."

"And they just... accepted?" Asked Merida in disbelief. "But nae even ye can stand us!"

Miss Amblin giggled.

"Well, you'll just have to meet them!"

And so, the four children came to the living room of the foster house. It startled them to remember all the childish faces that surrounded them. All their bullies and old bunk-bed partners were there, along with their beloved Professor Disney who saw them approach as he was calmly smoking his tobacco pipe. He smiled warmly at them and urged them to come close.

Rapunzel sat in the rugged floor and hugged one of Disney's leg, as the other three kids cuddled up close, seated in the armrests of their professor's couch.

Right across, the fearful couple sat. The man was a redhead with pointy ears and a playful grin, while the woman as a brunette of kind eyes and comforting smile. The couple looked at Merida, Jack, Rapunzel and Hiccup with love, as though they had known them for their whole lives.

"Professor Disney has told us wonders about you guys" said the woman, whose name was Wendy Darling.

"We've heard about your epic advertures in the woods." Completed Peter Darling.

Hiccup's eyes widened, afraid that the adults had somehow found out about the magical land he had been king of for over two decades. Jack sensed his brother's concerned and placed his hand over his shoulder, then nodded his head towards the window, from which they could see the garden and the limits of the woods next to the orphanage. Hiccup eased down and smiled in relief.

"It's... It has been... It's been fun" said the brunet, surprised at himself for stuttering for the first time in years.

Merida nodded, unable to find words inside herself.

The children looked one another for what had to be the sixth time that day, having mastered wordless communication, and though confused and a little traumatized, they silently agreed to carry on with these odd lives they had thought were left far behind. For apparently, they were just around the corner of a wardrobe.

Wendy and Peter adopted the four children and raised them with love and care, like they had always dreamed of doing, and even though the children had lives they could only talk about when they were alone, they learned to enjoy these new-old ones as well, thankful that, whatever they went through, they were together.
