maria didn't feel ready. she didn't feel ready at all. but it was ashton irwin for fuck's sake, so of course she didnt want to miss the exciting opportunity. plus, what's better than helping a friend in person?

"i cant believe youre actually meeting ashton," says hailey. she was maria's best friend for 8 years. - they both live in an apartment together, just because both of them needed each other and there was no better option anyway. 

"i know right? the excitement is killing me," maria says, taking in a deep breath. "i hope he wears that hat on his head, he looks so fucking hot in it." 

"ill tell him you said that," hailey winks, and maria groans in annoyance. 

"oh shoot, i have like 5 minutes!" maria's eyes widen as she rushes around the room to find her purse. 

once she finds it, she sighs in relief. "i dont think ill be late for this session today," 

hailey giggles at her best friend, "make sure you get his dick by tonight!"

"hailey!" maria throws her purse on hailey, and hailey bursts into laughter.

"will you stop it, please?" maria smiles at her best friend, "we're like, depressed buddies. we get depressed together. i mean, i dont think we've ever had a normal conversation before, except for this one time - but yeah," 

"don't say that, maria, i mean it." hailey's expression falls into a frown. "its kind of upsetting that i dont know how to help you,"

"shhh, i have to go now," maria says, hugging best friend tightly. 

once she leaves the apartment, maria thinks of all the possibilities that could be happening. she just couldn't believe it. what if he thought she was ugly and left her? what if he didnt think she was good enough? 

maria shook her head, trying to push out all the negative thoughts. she didnt want to ruin her day.

once maria got there, she greeted mrs. dinah, asking her how she was and all. joining the circle, she was seated next to one of her very good friends, eric, who shot her a tight smile and she did the same. 

staring at the clock, maria watched as the handle moved towards the right every second, then looked back at the door. she just wanted to see him, her sunshine - her saviour. 

that's when her phone vibrated, making her jump in surprise, having everyone look back at her. she smiled at everyone, assuring them she was okay.

looking up once more, maria squinted her eyes to see through the small window the door had. and thats when she saw him. she saw ashton fucking irwin, standing there with a grin on his face.
