Hi everyone, welcome for this new lesson! We'll talk about the verb To be in french which is - être /aitre/! What are we waiting for? LET'S GO!
- The most frequently occurring verb in French is être. Let's do some examples first and after that is forms, which vary grammatically according to the noun or subject pronoun;
EXAMPLES
Je suis heureux de faire votre connaissance. / Jeu sui eureu deu fairre vautre conéssansse : I am happy to meet you.
Il est à Lyon maintenant. / il é(ai) a ( open your mouth when you are saying it like i Am) Lyon minteunan: He is in Lyon now.
Vos parents sont-ils toujours en vacances?/ vau paran son tile toujourre an vaquanceu? : Are you parents still on vacation?
Subject Pronoun+ Verb
Je suis = I am /Jeu soui/
Tu es = you are /Tu"Tou" é/
il est, elle est = he is, she is /ile é (ai), aile é/
Nous sommes= we are /Nou ssommeu/
Vous êtes = you are / Vou zète/
ils sont, elles sont= they are /ile son, aile son/
