Welcome guys today we'll talk about Possessive adjectives, possessive adjectives are words that say to whom or to what something belongs. In English we have seven possessive adjectives:

*My bed
*Your phone
*His room
*Her bag
*Their books
*It's house

In French there are few more of these words to juggle, and which one you use depends on a few different factors :

  Noun masculine or feminine?

All French nouns are either masculine or feminine. Even things like tables and lamps, possessive adjectives will change depending on the gender of the noun they're describing:
-My father: Mon père [ mon paireu ]
-My mother: Ma mère [ ma maireu ]

In English, the word "my" stays the same. But in French it changes depending on whether you're talking about a masculine noun (père) or a feminine noun (mère).

now a little confusing thing for English speakers:
-his father : son père [ son paireu]
-her father : son père [ son paireu ]

Yes this is exactly the same in French for "his father" and "her father". The gender of the child is neither here or there.
👇🏽
-Her father : son père [son paireu]
-Her mother : sa mère [ssa maireu]

• you can't tell the gender of the child in this example, because the possessive adjective is only interested in the gender of the noun it's describing

Do not worry I will do another lesson on that ^^ hope that you will have a great day or a good night 🥰 If you have any questions come on my insta : maiw974 XOXO 💋
