"Chris?" I whispered, softly knocking on his door. "Chris?" I whispered again, a little louder this time as I got no answer. I slightly opened the door, peaking through it, seeing him on his desk, headphones on. I could feel a smile creep on my face as I slowly entered, quietly sneaking up on him.
I quickly tapped his shoulders, Chris almost falling from his chair. "Baby, I didn't hear you come in!" he said surprised as he instantly turned around, hugging me tight. He slightly lifted me up, putting my feet on his as we waddled to his bed, falling down in it."I just wanted to say goodbye" I whispered, not wanting to wake up Changbin who seemingly fell asleep. He must have been really exhausted. Our faces were only inches apart, both contagiously smiling. "Do you have to go?" he whispered back, his eyes forming sparkles in them. "I should" I replied sadly. "I promised Jisung I'd be home by 6 for dinner, can't leave him hanging now can I?" Chris let out a sigh of disappointment. "You're right... I'll miss you though." I kissed the tip of his nose, slowly getting up. "I'll really miss you too."
"Bye Y/N, text me when you're home!" Chris said from the doorway as me and Felix walked out. "And you, make sure she gets home safe!" he added, pointing at Felix. "I will, I will, stop worrying, geez" Felix said laughingly, linking arms with me. "See, now no one can snatch her away, I got you." Chris smacked his forehead, but still laughed a little at his brothers logic. "Byeee!"
"Felix?" I started slowly as we were walking home together, arms still linked. "Yeah? What's up?" He asked, looking at me. "I told you I got hold up my Hyunjin again this afternoon right?" I said, looking down. He nodded, not taking his gaze off of me. "Well... I heard him on the phone, talking to someone he called N... And I've been thinking. This N person clearly stated I shouldn't get hurt, so I was wondering if maybe it's someone I know, like, someone I've recently met... Since you're the only one who doesn't have an N in their name I'm not really sure who to trust besides you... I know it might seem like a stupid reason, thinking that because of the N in the name, but right now everything is scary, so you start imagining things simply to try to make sense of it."
Felix looked rather shocked, trying to take it all in. "So, basically you're thinking it could be one of us?" I nodded, looking down again. "Goodness, I can't imagine anyone doing it, not even one of Chan's friends to be honest." "There's one more thing... When Hyunjin left, he said he was meeting someone at the park... And just now Changbin and Chris said they met there... What if one of them went to meet Hyunjin?" Felix firmly shook his head. "I really don't think they did this... They're both amazing people, I don't think they'd do something like that..."
I let out a huge sigh. "I hate this... I keep doubting the people I really care about, it feels horrible." Felix's arm slowly moved away a little, now intertwining our hands. "Listen, whoever it is, I'll be here for you to protect you okay? I promise you I won't let anyone harm you." A smile returned, finally getting the feeling of trust back a little. "Thanks Lix."
I had to admit. Saying bye to Chris felt weird this afternoon. I love him so much, so why do I still doubt him? There's no way he'd do this to anyone, he's too good of a person... It has to be someone else... Maybe Seungmin? He's usually seriously quiet right? But that wouldn't make sense, why would he not want me to get hurt... I let out a sigh again.
"Y/N, is something bothering you?" Jisung asked as he walked out of the kitchen. "This is the fifth time you've sighed already and you literally came home 15 minutes ago... Did something happen?" He sat down on the side of the couch, letting his arm rest on top of it. "It's nothing!" I quickly denied, not wanting to let him know my recent discovery. "Just ehm... A little disagreement with Chris, that's all." I could see him wanting to ask more, but instead he held back. "If you want to talk about it I'm here for you."
Suddenly a strange scent filled my nostrils. "Jisung, were you by any chance cooking?" I asked, slightly panicked. "OH FREAK" he shouted out, instantly running back to the kitchen. "Y/N... We're going out for dinner tonight" he added after a few seconds, making me chuckle. Note to self; do not let Jisung cook.
"How was your afternoon by the way? Did you do anything?" I asked to change to topic as we were outside, walking to the nearest snackbar. "Pretty weird to be honest. I finally got used to you not being around, and now you were gone again" he said laughingly.
As we were about to cross the road, we abruptly stopped, seeing a way too familiar figure... And someone else? Hyunjin was right there, talking to someone, completely covered in black with a hoodie on. "I'm sorry for calling you out here so suddenly, I just found out there's a little problem with... Tonight's plan." Hyunjin said, looking down, obviously intimidated by the other person.
Jisung instantly pulled me behind him, making sure I'd be safe just in case. The other person mumbled something inaudible as a car passed by. "Alright" Hyunjin answered. "I'll see what I can do." Just as we were about to cross the road a truck drove past us. When it finally passed, the two were gone without a trace...
"Jisung, who on earth was that?"
