Every girl has lived the experience, as a child you were carefree but that slowly wears off as you reach the age of maturity. Or in other words, the day you get your first period. Everything changes. From sex talks to painful cramps, you become a woman. And ever since that day, you were oblivious to the next painful chapter to come; giving birth. Now, I wouldn't get into details as to not frighten you, but let's just say those cramps were a free trail. And let's spice it up and say, it doesn't stop at birth.
Once, the baby is delivered you're thrust into this chaotic state of motherhood. No matter how many blogs you followed, or the countless books you read, it will still not prepare you for this stage in life. Not even your countless calls to your abuela!
I say this as I'm cradling a baby in my arms while glaring at the instructions of this very complex highly technological bullshit. So, imagine the many multitasking you will be doing- unless you're a man, or motherhood is not planned in your future - then you're one lucky bastard. Anyways, let's get back to my unnecessary ranting. Or is it necessary? It all depends on you.
My internal ranting was cut short by the shrill voice of a nurse. "Everything is in order, new mama. You can take your baby home." The smile that stretched her lips was as fake as can be, and I found myself itching to slap it off. I grimaced as my abuela helped lowering me onto a wheelchair. "Careful, mija ."
The nurse tapped her notepad, irritatingly. I opened my mouth to retort in a provoking manner at her impatience, but my mouth snapped shut at the heavy weight on my shoulder. My abuela patted my shoulder to halt my testy patience. I scrunched up my nose in annoyance. The nurse gave us a curt nod before moving aside to allow us to pass.
I was helped into the car with the countless instructions from abuela.
"Mija, cover his face."
"Don't hold him to tight."
"Careful his head."
I nodded my head and often sent a noise of agreement. But as her words continued on, I found myself zoning out and slowly falling asleep.

A light poke at my shoulder stirred me awake. I squinted at the harsh sunlight. As my eyes began to adjust, I jolted out from the car seat. Eyes bugging out at the sight of my empty arms. A sudden snaking of a muscular arm around my was it, and the waft of his husky scent struck me back to reality. His laughter tickled my check. I glanced to my right to see him cradling our son and laughing at my frightened state. "I told you not to take him from her." My abuela tsked as she walked briskly into the house.
I slapped away his arm. "Cabrón [dick/bastard]!"
He chuckled as he pulled me back against him again. The sound of the door banging and the heavy stomps of feet caused the baby to stir awake. I glared at the new comers which only happens to be Cesear and his gang. The three teenage boys gathered around the now whaling baby. I grimaced at the mingling of their voices and his. Ruby took the baby away, cradling as he swayed lightly from one side to another. I smiled thankfully at him, as Oscarr dragged me inside to rest, of course not before barking order at the boys to carry the luggage.
