Chapter 24

"It can't be. It was an accident. You was in the car as well. If you planned it, you wouldn't have gotten in the car that day," I said.

"Yeah, but I already got myself safely protected that day. You father was busy talking on the phone that he didn't notice anything wrong. You and your brother escaped that day," she said.

"Raani, don't tell her all the useless things," My uncle tried to stop her.

"No honey. She think we are a pushover. We have to tell her what we have done to make her stop," she said and turned back to me, "Listen, you are marrying my son. That is it!!" she said.

"And if I say no?" I asked. My tone was no longer that firm.

"I will kill you just like I did to your brother!!!" she said and I nearly fainted. Thank god Sid was there to catch me from falling down. He was just as shocked as me.

"My brother?" I asked her.

"Hahaha, all this year you think he became a drug addict because you didn't pay attention to him right? But no!! We gave him drugs. We fed him drugs. We told him that he is being a hindrance for you to lead a normal life. We told him you are having difficulties taking care of him. We told him that you hate him. Poor child, he didn't believe us first. He will always say, 'My sister loves me. She loves me the most. She wont hate me' and all that kind of things. It took us months to convince him that you hate him!!!" she said.

"How could you do this to him? He was so young!!! Are you guys that heartless!!!!" I shouted while crying. Sid hold onto my shoulder to prevent me from collapsing.

"We can be even more heartless. You have to marry my son!!! Then you give me all your assets!!! If not I will force you to do it!!!" my aunt said. I wanted my uncle to tell that this is all lie. I knew they were bad as all they wanted was my assets. But I didn't expect they will go this lengths to take it!!! My uncle was silent for the whole time which confirmed that he was involved in all this.

"My father was your brother, you remember? How could you destroy your own family like this? You are not human at all!!! You both are not even worthy to be called animals!!!! You monsters!!!!" I cried to my uncle.

"You can't force her to give you all her assets. What if we go to police telling you killed her father and drugged her brother?" It was Arjun this time. He spoke after keeping silent for a long time.

"Hahaha you think we are that stupid? You can't find any evidence for what we have done!!! We already destroy each and every evidence related to this case!!!" My uncle smirked.

"Then I should tell you overestimated yourself!!!" Arjun said and took out his smartphone from his upper pocket. He then played the video of my aunt confessing to everything.

Not only my uncle and aunt was shocked, even me and Sid was shocked. How the hell he managed to record the whole thing without even them noticing.

"Be ready to receive letter from our lawyers!!!" he said and turned to me. "Anjali, I will avenge for you! I wont let you suffer after this," he said and hugged me.

When we were busy hugging, my uncle and aunt escaped without a word. "Leave them, the police will handle them," Arjun said. I was still in shock of what had happened. How could they do this to my family? I believed them but they betrayed me and my father like this. What wrong did my brother did for them to punish him like that.

"Why they didn't kill me but target my brother instead?" I asked.

"You know they have a son. They couldn't get him married to your brother right? That's whyy they planned this to your brother. If they kill the both of you, the assets will automatically go to the orphanage. They should have known that. That's whyy all this happened," Arjun explained.

"Oh my god, I still can't believe all this happened because of them. My brother is so innocent and they did this to him. I should not have left him alone with them!! Its all my fault," I cried.

"Stop it Anjali. You can't blame yourself for everything. Even if you didn't leave your brother alone, they would have found another way to kill your brother, which may be even worse. So stop worrying please. All this didn't happen because of you. You are the victim here okay?" Sid said, no shouted at me!!!

"Yes Anjali, you can't punish yourself for others' mistake," Arjun said softly. I looked at Arjun for a while before hugging him tightly.

"Thank you Arjun. If not you, I could have never punish the evil. Thank you so much. You have done a lot for me!!" I said.
