Chapter 23

"Actually, I met a girl. She just joined my company and I.... kinda like her. Her name is Geetha.  But, I don't know how she feels about me," he said, shyly.

"Oh my god, how fortunate I am to see the all-mighty Siddharth being shy like this," I couldn't control my laughter at the sight in front of me. "But, jokes apart!!! You should confess to her if you want to know how she feels about you!!!" I said.

"True, but.... I don't want to scare her away," he said and I nodded.

"Take it slow, But not TOO slow. Then other guys will take her away, leaving you nothing," I said.

"Don't say that for me. You tell me how you feel about Arjun? You shouldn't delay as well" he asked me.

"Ughh not again. You promised me you won't ask me about this again," I reminded him.

"Promises are made to be broken baby. Don't worry about anything. Just tell me. Do you like Arjun?" Sid asked me.

"Yeah I like him. I obviously like him. But I am scared to name it as love. I can't do this. I don't want to do this," I said and he smiled. He smiled like he can understand me. Sid is always the one who understand me without needing for me to say much. He hugged me tight and assured me he will take care of everything.

"Yeah okay let's have dinner tonight okay? I'll cook for you!!" Sid said. Did I forgot to tell you that he is a great cook. I can't cook. My cooking sucks and it will always be him cooking for me.

"Wow, since today Mr.Siddharth is in the mood to cook, how can I refuse the opportunity. I am telling you I won't help you at all okay?" I said.

"Yeah yeah okay. You go watch television and I will go cook," he said and I happily accepted. In the mean time, I called Keerthi to check whether everything is fine or not back at the company. I also called Reena to ask her about the boys. Just as I finished my call, I saw Arjun coming to my house.

"Arjun?? What are you doing here?" I asked him.

"What? Now you don't want me to be here anymore?" he asked me.

"No nothing like that. I was just shocked. You are always welcomed here," I said laughing.

"Heyy Arjun!!! Good that you can make it!!!" it was Sid this time. Looks like Sid invited Arjun for dinner.

"Yeahh always dude," Arjun said and they both bro-hugged.

"Thank you for taking care of Anjali in my absence," Sid said and Arjun smiled. And guess what? They both just forget my existence and started talking as if I didn't even exist.

"Time for dinner!!!" Sid said when they both were out of topic to tell. We three sat at the dining table and started our dinner. Sid's cooking always made me eat more than I ever want.

"Looks like I have to exercise extra hour tomorrow, I am scared I will be fat," I said after we finished our food.

"Don't worry, even if you become fat, we will love you," Sid said. And that 'WE' didn't sound nice.

"Wow, honey, it seems like we came at the wrong time. They are having a nice family time I guess," I heard a sarcastic voice. Yeah it was my aunt. Beside her standing my uncle like the most good man in the world.

"You bitch, how can you hang out with other mans like this when you are already engaged. Don't you feel shameless?" my aunt exploded.

"Mind you words I am telling you!!" Arjun said.

"Arjun, let me handle this okay?" I assured him and turned back to my aunt.

"Yeah what was that aunty, tell me again!" I said to her even though I heard it clearly the first time.

"You are engaged remember? You fiancee has gone missing and you don't seem to care about it? You are roaming around with this guy? I should have known for better that you are a shameless slut!!" she said.

"Oh yeah. Oops you found out? Yeah aunty I am a shameless slut!! I am dating Arjun. I want to marry him. I am sorry I don't find your son attractive. Lets just cancel this engagement so that you don't have to deal with me, is that okay?" I asked her, clearly ignoring the suspicious looks Sid and Arjun giving me.

"Anjali, how can you talk like this? You aunt clearly have good intention for you. We have always think good for you. We have always wanted a good daughter-in-law like you. She spoke all that in anger okay? Don't take it to heart, dear," it was my uncle this time. When they realize their anger have no value here, they have started playing their victim card.

"I wish I could say the same uncle. BUT I didn't say those in anger. I meant it. I am planning to marry Arjun. So, I think its better if we cancel this engagement," I said.

"You idiot, how can you be this shameless? I am telling you. You are marrying Raghav and that's it!!! You already promised to us four years ago. You cant tell like this now!!" my aunt said.

"Then, I have to tell you the truth. I thought of saving some pride for you but now, I guess I have to tell you now. Your very own son kidnapped me when I was in LA. He paid money to some idiots to film a video of me being raped. If not for Arjun, I would have been raped by now. And the reason would have been your son. Your son is hiding from the LA police because we filed a complaint against him. Just pray that he will never get caught because the law there is strict. They might even hang him to death for kidnapping a woman," I said and their face turned pale.

"It cant be..Our son...He is..." my uncle stammered.

"Uncle, cant get words out? Let me tell it for you. Your son is a bastard who plays with a girl's life. He is not a real man, because a real man will protect their loved ones. Even though I am, sorry was his fiancee, he never cared for me. But Arjun, he took care of me, saved me and protect me without having any relation with me. And that is the reason he deserve a chance from me. I should not say no to him just because I am engaged to a scoundrel right?" I said.

"Don't you dare say a word about my son. You...You made my son do all this. You triggered his emotion," My aunt fumed in anger.

"Sorry aunty. I am not talented enough to trigger emotion of an animal. What your son did was totally his decision and I am not taking responsibility for it. I am telling for once and for all, I don't want to marry your son. Not now, not ever," I said firmly. For the first time I am using this tone to them.

"How dare you.." My aunt raised her hand to slap only to be stopped by Sid.

"Don't act like we are not here. Don't you dare raise your hand on her," Sid said and protected me.

"It's a big mistake on my side that I didn't kill you when I got a chance. I should have sent you together with your father. I didn't expect you and your precious brother will escape from it!!!" she said.

"What do you mean?" I didn't quite understand.

"I mean, I killed your father so it wont take long for me to kill you. You understand? Better watch your words," she said and I was shocked. I was too shocked.
