EMILIE
[One month ago]

I actually had the night off. It had been so long since I had a Friday night off, I actually had no idea what to do with myself. I sat in my silent room alone, looking at the clock as it ticked by.

6 pm. The night is only young, and I have hours free ahead of me. I wanted to take advantage of my time, but I didn't know how. What do normal people do?

I searched around again and decided, dinner. People go out for dinner. But who would I go with? I could call up Kari or Jan or possibly even Heidi. Yes, that's what I'd do. It had been a while since I caught up with them; I shall call and organise it.

Heidi was very keen to catch up, and so was Kari and Jan. We decided to go to a restaurant called 'Rosaline's', a place we liked to catch up back when we could actually hang out before I got my weird houred job.

Heidi was one of my best friends, with long dark hair and dark eyes. She worked at a cafe in town. I'd known her since we graduated.

Kari was younger than us at 19, and was short and blonde. I didn't know her as well as Heidi, but we were still friends.

Jan was 25 and had a stocky build and short, dark hair. He was a mechanic in town. He was also going out with Kari.

All three met when they moved in together, and I met them through Heidi. There was a fourth in their communal living house, but none of them really spoke about him that much; but granted, I hadn't spoken to any if them in a while. It would be nice to catch up again.

Heidi said she would pick me up in fifteen minutes, as I didn't have a car. I was incredibly grareful for that.

Pondering a while, I realised I had absolutely no idea what to wear. What do normal people wear out? I decided on a pair of blue jeans with a white blouse and a black coat with a pair of black boots. Dressy, but casual.

Within no time, Heidi was out the front. I hopped in her white sedan and we were off. She was in black jeans with black boots, a grey top and a an old looking flannel shirt that acted as a coat that was far too thin for the cold, and far too big for her. Did she have a boyfriend now?

"Long time no see!" She exclaimed with a smile as we took off down the street. I grinned back.

"I know, it's been so long!" I commented back.

"Oh yeah, bad news. Kari and Jan couldn't make it, Jan's parents just randomly rocked up at the house and yeah. They're really bloody bossy," Heidi explained, her nose crinckling with a small frown. "But anyway, doesn't mean we can't have a fab girly night out!" She smiled and I was relieved almost that she was still really enthusiastic about this, even though Kari and Jan wouldn't be with us.

"So how have you been, any news?" She asked and I shrugged.

"Not really, mostly work...and only work," I chuckled and she laughed with me.
