Aftershock

NATALIA'S POV

I was excited for today,it was afterall father- daughter date today.Incase you are wondering its Dad and my thing to spend the day together.We have done this since I was five.I cried to home one day when a six year old boy didn't want to play with me as he thought girls are gross.I was five at that time and I wanted to date like big girls.Yeah go figure it out.

Since then my Dad decided to take me out once in a while.It stopped while I was dating that jerk of an ex but recently we've started this tradition again.I was waiting for my Dad after school near the crossroad.I was dead tired yet my father insisted he wants to have fun time with his lil girl.His words not mine.I reminded him of my movie date with Etienne via text.Finally Dad has learnt how to text.Yay!!

I saw my father's car approaching so I eagerly started to cross the road.Somewhere in between a black car with tinted glass came screeching towards me.I became immobile and froze on that place.I heard someone calling my name but I literally couldn't move.Suddenly I was pushed forward.I hit my head on something very hard.Warm liquid trickle down my face and then everything became dark..

Beep,beep,beep
I woke up to beep beep sound.The smell of antiseptic hitting my nose.I look around the room and I saw white walls and a tube connected to my arm.

Where the hell am I?

I felt someone's voice.I looked to my left and saw Etienne talking rather crying his heart out.He didn't see me but I heard him saying I love you Natalia.Then and there I decided I don't want to listen to my head anymore.I would have been dead and would never express my feelings towards him.
I love him and the man in front of me isn't faking his feelings for me.I tried to squeeze his hand.He looked up with his teary beautiful eyes and my heart skipped a beat.He looked tired yet his six '0' clock shadow made him all the more sexy.
"I love you right back Etienne Martin."I blurted out,my voice sounding groggy.He was beaming with happiness and he hugged me with all his force.I know boy ,you're happy.
"Water please." I asked.He gave me water and I drank it like it was ambrosia.
I then panicked reminscing my accident.I faintly remember my accident.I enquired about it.
"What happened?"
"You don't remember?"
"Only a little.I was... waiting for my father and a car.."I whimpered.
"Hush baby.. don't cry."He coaxed me gently.
"My dad?Is he fine?"
"He is alright baby.Just a few scratches.He'll be fine."

He is going to be alright then?
Absolutely.
I cannot remember much.
"Its because you had a concussion,but don't you worry that beautiful head of yours.You are absolutely fine."

"How is everyone?"
"Everyone's good.Antonio is holding up like a champ."
I smiled at this.
Etienne is so good with my brother.I wonder he'll be a great Dad someday.
Gosh where does these idea sprout from?
I smile and scooted over making some place for him to join me on my bed.He climbed the bed and wrapped his hand around me making sure not to hurt me.When did I get so lucky?

My eyes started to droop,keeping my head on his chest and listening to his rhytmic heartbeat I drifted off to sleep.

I woke up to some noise.I opened my eyes and saw my mother and Zita talking in hushed tone.I was still wrapped around Etienne.
"Aren't they the cutest couple?"I realised it was Zita gushing at us.
"Yes ,ofcourse they are."
I opened my eyes and smiled at my family.
"Hey guys."
"Oh my god Nat you are awake.You scared us girl."
"Where is Dad?I didn't see him.Is he alright?"
They looked at each other as if contemplating what to say.
"Guys...?"
"Your Dad is fine Nat.He's hurt but he'll be fine."
"What?Dad is hurt?How much?"
My heart monitor raised stealthily.
"Calm the fuck down girl.I said he is fine."Zita exclaimed.
"Language Zita."My mother scolded.
"Sorry Beths."Zita rolled her eyes playfully.
Are they hiding something from me?Both of them looked so tired.What exactly happened?Even Etienne looked so weary not even stirring.
I have to find out what is going on?Wearily I queried.
"When am I going to be discharged?"
"As soon as doctor says Talia."My mother said sternly.
"Ok."I guess I have to wait and find out about the truth.
A nurse came and checked my vitals.She wanted to wake up Etienne but I shook my head vehemently.
"If he is awake It won't be good for you."I said in my strict teacher voice.
"Its against the rule ma'am.I'm doing my duty."
"I'll talk to the management."
She nodded realising she cannot argue with me.She gave me some medicine and instructed my family to leave.I moved closer to the love of my life and fell into darkness..
But it was short-lived.
Etienne stirred making me come out of my deep sleep.
"Did you sleep properly?"
"I slept like a baby ,mother hen."I rolled my eyes playfully.He grinned at me showing his beautiful perfect smile.
I lifted my hands and raked my finger through his hair.He smiled and shut his eyes.I finger combed his soft hair.

"I wish that I wake up everyday with you in my arms.
Correction..not in the hospital.Rather at my house in my bed.
I wake up to your melodious voice first thing in the morning.I see your angelic face.I kiss your lush lips."
He kissed me deeply.
"Etienne.."I blushed.
"This is a hospital."
"And your point being?"He quirked his brow.
"There are rules.What if they throw you out of this room?"I was mocking at him.

"Let them try.If anyone even lifted their finger to wrench you from me.I'll cut those hands."
"When did you become so violent?"
"The day you became my strength."
"I thought you would say weakness."
"People aren't afraid to lose their weakness Nat.They are afraid to lose their strength.And you are my strength darling one."
"You say such lovely things to me.When did I get so lucky?"
"Trust me,I ask this everyday myself."
"Then I think we're both lucky that way."
"Any doubt?"
"Never."I vowed.
"I love you Etienne."
"I love you my Natalia...."
