This (↑) is the first cover I really edited. It's a 256 × 400, which is why it's so blurry.
This is the second cover I made after figuring out how to download and use fonts. As you can see by the dramatic difference in size, this one's 512 × 800.
After getting a little experience, I went back and found the fire overlay was set to "exclude," so I switched it to "screen." It proved to appear too bright on my phone, so I turned the transparency down to 85%. I also added a gradient and a tint to make the whole thing fit together.
What do you think?
Texture overlay by @comelypj on We Heart It. Georgie Henley image from Pinterest (can be found in the resource section of my Graphics board [<https://www.pinterest.com/remakethestars/graphics/resources>]; I can't get it to show me the O.G. poster). Fire overlay by @monbebelexi on Pinterest. Other overlays and gradient from Pixlr X and Pixlr E respectively. Font by GemFont on Famfonts.
If you're wondering how I did the silver letters on the first two covers, I learned from Pixlr Tutorials by sohostyxles, whom I have never met but will love for eternity. They recommend 100, 0, 27, -135, 3, 3, 135. I usually use 100, 0, 27, -135, 4, 3 — and then I play around with the bevel angling to put the shadows away from what I'm pretending is the light source.
