I (crappily) cut out the gun and hands and played around with different colored backgrounds. I was hoping for red, and that's obviously what I ended up settling on. I set the texts to overlay and duplicated them (I set the top one's transparency to 55% for some reason). It was a little empty still, so I played around with overlays. It kind of covers up my poor erasing skills. Then the "one second" hand was a little hard to see, so I duplicated that layer and set it to hard-light.
I also have two completely white overlays (100%), one red one (#360A0A — 100%), and one purple one (#9C8BB6 — 55%).
The hand overlay was originally all in the shot, not with the knuckles cut out, but apparently, it got bumped to the right during editing, and I only just noticed it.
