Hey! I just wanna make it clear, I am from the UK, and so depending on where you live, information about the school scenes may be wrong. Spare me, we're weird over here.
Anyway, enjoy!
Liam awoke to his father violently shaking his arm. Shouting "I'm awake!" at the crazy man, the boy looked over to his ornate clock and realised he had not 30 minutes to get to school. Thankfully, his father was out of the room, because Liam whisper- shouted "Shit!" as he yanked the pale blue duvet off of his tanned body. He ran over to his bathroom, and turned the exuberant shower on. In seconds, hot waster was gushing at him from every angle. Liam slid out of his boxer-briefs and stepped inside, grabbing the shampoo. Scrubbing his hair within an inch of his life, he grabbed the body wash and began to lather himself in the sweet- smelling cream.
5 minutes later, he was back in his bedroom, a fluffy black towel wrapped around his waist. The teenager sorted out his uniform, making sure he had every piece in the black and blue outfit. He dried himself off, and careful not to crease anything, slipped his uniform on. Liam looked in the mirror, taking himself in, rather please with how the uniform fit his toned body. He quickly brushed his hair, adding some wax to keep it in place, and bounded downstairs, taking two stairs at a time. Noticing that his father had already made him breakfast, he hollered a grateful "Thanks dad" to nowhere in particular, and quickly devoured the cheese on toast.
After chugging a bottle of water and throwing another in his backpack, Liam followed his father out of the house. He locked the front door, and jumped in his dad's Porsche. Once the teenager had his seatbelt on, his father set off at a slightly too fast pace, but it was necessary.
The boy arrived at school and stared up at the huge assembly of concrete after saying goodbye to his dad. Although he had missed his friends over the summer, he would much rather be at home than at this hellhole. The sun beating down on his back quickly became uncomfortable, and Liam strolled inside the air-conditioned building welcomed by his bright- faced best friend, Samuel Goodwin. "Hey dude! Looking good, as ever." The giant smirked. Although Liam was tall, standing at six foot three, Samuel still dwarfed him. The man was six foot ten, and had shoulders broader than a buffalo. Yet, he had warm brown eyes that calmed you down instantly, and a big baby face that was impossible to stay mad at.
"Indeed I do." Came Liam's reply, knowing full well how he looked. Sam smiled, and started off towards their group of friends. Liam followed, and as he came closer, put a finger to his lips with a grin. Sneaking up on Bryan Gardener, the teenager pounced, throwing his arm's around the petite guy and bellowing "Hi Bryan!". The poor victim screeched, and everyone around burst into a fit of laughter. "I thought I told you to stop doing that, Liam! It scares the living shit out of me!" The boy shouted, but with no real conviction in his voice. Liam finally recovered from his fit of joy, and patted Bryan's shoulder. "Sorry, mate. I just couldn't let that opportunity go." Smirking, the teenager ruffled his friend's shiny auburn hair, and started general conversation with the rest of the group. His presence immediately took away any of the stress or nervousness anyone felt, his aqua eyes embracing his friends.
Suddenly, the shrill bell rung violently, shocking the boys. Saying quick goodbyes, everyone rushed off to wherever they had to be for AM registration. Liam walked into class, silently admiring the change. Last time he'd sad in here, just six weeks ago, the paint was cracked and covered in dark smudges; the notice boards had been in tatters. Now, however, the room looked... appealing.
The walls were now bright white and clean. There were new desks; the old wooden ones, dented and scraped now replaced with glossy white tables. The notice boards were neat and tidy, with slick plastic cases keeping them safe from board teenagers. The floor was now actually carpeted: although it was nothing special, thin and cheap, the floor boards were no longer exposed, so it was a big step up. The lights had all been replaced, too: LED blocks now shone down upon him, instead of those hideous fluorescent tubes.
Sitting down at one of the new desks, Liam pulled out his laptop, pad, pencil case and book, ready for the class inspection. Every morning, the teacher went around and made sure everybody had their equipment. No equipment, detention. When the teacher was towards his table, Liam looked up. And that's when he saw he was sitting at the table adjacent to his.
The boy from the park.
