To say that Elisa and Liam had spent their time well would be a blatant lie. The two had spent the first few minutes thinking, but not very bothered. Then Elisa had the sudden realisation that her favourite anime had most likely just released the most recent episode. And then she discovered an entirely new anime.
And that's all they'd been doing. All night. And then all day.
Liam had been so engrossed in the show that he hadn't realised the time, so he had ended up just sleeping over at Elisa's house. Although, 'sleep' is a bit of an overstatement. It was more of a brief nap before they watched even more anime.
So, it was now 3 in the afternoon the next day, Elisa's family had now fed him three meals, and he hadn't seen his own dad in over a day.
It was probably time for him to go home: which he did, giving El's parents a massive thank you, and the girl herself a death stare for the punch the previous day – his arm now had a visible bruise.
As he walked out the door, Liam went to listen to music before realising that his earphones were completely dead. He let out an audible groan, not looking forward to having to complete the twenty-minute walk in complete silence, with only his messed-up mind. He shivered at the thought.

About five minutes away from home, Liam heard a loud shout. He jumped at the sound, as it was so unusual in the area – Liam definitely didn't live in the most luxurious area, but it was normally relatively quiet.
So, the teenager went looking for the sound.
He would never have normally – but then, if he had his music, he probably wouldn't have even heard the sound. But something seems out of place to him. And boy, was he lucky he'd heard the sound.
As he rounded a corner to an alleyway, he saw two dark figures crouched around a third. It took him a second to realise that this wasn't some kinky shit – the figure on the ground was groaning.
"HEY!" Liam shouted, running towards the two shapes. Their heads snapped towards the teenager, before they stood up and immediately sprinted off. The boy chased after them for a moment, quickly realising he was much faster than them, and managed to floor the one closest to him. But he was shocked when, as the person hit the ground, it wasn't a deep grunt, but rather a feminine voice.
The sound startled Liam so much that he momentarily paused, in which time the second shit disappeared around a corner. Dammit.
Turning back, the teenager noticed the first shape was still on the ground. He walked over to her, and pushed her onto her back with his foot. He smirked slightly when he saw her face. She looked fucking awful.
Now that Liam knew she wasn't going anywhere, he jogged over to the guy who was on the floor. And he cringed at the state of him.
His face was bloody, his nose clearly broken and a black eye already forming. And it only got worse the further you went down. His black leather jacket was ripped at the pockets, and the knees of his jeans were torn to shreds. Liam couldn't see any more surface damage, but the way the poor guy was clutching his ribs told him all he needed to know – the guy needed to be in hospital.
And that's when Liam realised why he'd been so drawn to the shout, and felt some familiarity with the voice.
Lying on the ground was Luke.

The police and the paramedics arrived, and Luke was immediately taken to hospital, leaving Liam and the criminal to be questioned. I mean, it was only fair – Liam might have called the ambulances but the police still wanted to know exactly what was going on.
