Part 13 - Blurred Past

Jennie's POV

What do you mean Lisa?" I asks myself.

I'm still looking where Lisa went when I felt a nudge. I reluctantly look at my side to see a grinning Mina.

"What?" I asks confusedly with little hint of annoyance.

"Aww don't be that grumpy, as much I don't want to break the sexual tension between you two, I'm afraid I need to." She answered wiggling her brows.

"What the?! What are you saying sexual tension?" I confirmed but she just giggled.

"Come on! Don't play dumb Jen, I support you okay? After all she's the great Lalisa Manoban, everyone falls for her charm, though allow me to remind you that you need to be careful, Ms. Manoban is the kindest, most gentle, most caring and a lot more person I've ever met, that's a fact but I don't think she's ready for commitment or anything to do with that." She long explained. "I ah, I almost fell for her once..." Mina chuckled dryly. "...who wouldn't? Right? But I don't know, despite all the achievements and her happy facade, I know deep inside there's a sad girl trapped inside her." She added sounding sad.

Mina sighed and I'm about to ask another question when she continue talking.

"How did I know? Well, I ah, I saw her once, its already late that time and I had to return to our office to get something important. I thought no one still there until I heard sobs, I thought at first its a ghost or something creepy and I'm about to run, but then I heard a sniffed, someone is crying I said to myself. I should not mind the business of others but my curiosity that time won...and there I saw her crying her eyes out, her head on her table. That's the very first time I saw her on that state. She's not the Lalisa Manoban everyone known, that time she's like a baby needing to be spoil, to be care, to be love. On that day I promise that I'll be just a friend, that's the least thing I can do for her." Mina wiped her cheeks. We didn't noticed that both of us are already crying until we felt our tears pour.

"Aish!" She exhaled and wiped the remaining tears on her cheeks. "This is the first time I told someone that secret, so Jen? I hope you'll treasure that discovery as much as I did okay? I'm not ah, stopping you in ah, any feelings you might feel towards her, like what I've said she's really one of a kind but yeah, be aware that in falling in love you should accept not only the good side the person have but the bad as well. No one is perfect. Not even me or you.
Aye?" She ended.

She look at me as if waiting for my answer. Without thinking I nod and smiled at her.

"Thank you for trusting that information to me Mina and ahm, rest assured that no matter what happened between us, I'll ah, keep that on kind." I assured her.

Mina's look become intent as if weighing if I'm really saying the truth, afterwards she smiled too, a genuine smile that made me sighed in relief.

"Thanks Jen. I know I can trust you. I'm now relieved that somewhat finally I shared that information."

I nodded and about to say something again when I felt an arm on my shoulder. When I look up I saw a smiling Lisa, and I don't know, my heart started to beat fast. She's looking at Mina.

"You girls okay? You're topic seemed serious and ah, as much I don't want to disturbed, I'm afraid we need to continue walking. Here, I got you sandwiches." She said handing one of the sandwiches to Mina, which she immediately accepted. She's blushing, aish, I thought she already over with her little crush to Lisa? I don't know why I'm annoyed all of a sudden. I was back to reality when I felt a thumb rubbing my jaw. When I look up its Lisa, of course. Smiling down at me.

"Princess, stop gritting your teeth, it doesn't suit you, here." She said while handing me my sandwich. "I also brought you your sandwich so don't get mad." She joked and it made me embarrass. When I look for Mina, she's grinning at me meaningfully as if she caught me doing something bad. It doubled my embarrassment.

"Well, thank you Ms. Manoban. Ahm ah regarding out topic, we're done anyways, so no need to feel sorry about it, right Ms. Kim?" Mina said to Lisa.

"Yeah, that's right." I seconded.

"Gotta run to my partner now. See you later guys." She bid goodbye and we nodded.

Jennie's POV

Lisa's hand still on my shoulder. She's currently looking where Mina went.

I fake cough to get her attention and the moment she realized where her hand still is she immediately lift it up.

"Oh! Oh! I'm sorry Princess." She cutely said.

I just shook my head showing my fake disappointment but smiling.

"You ready?" She asks afterwards.

I just nodded.

And there we started to continue our walk just like others.

Our shoulders still touch time to time, I don't know why I have the feeling of wanting to hold her hand all of a sudden.

Argh fvck it.

I hold her hand and I felt that she look down at me confusedly, I'm right because in my peripheral view she's staring but I didn't look at her, I'm shy, I know I'm blushing at the moment. I'm just glad that the sun not that showing still, so my face is not that clearly visible.

I heard her chuckled but I still restrain my self looking to her side until I felt that she intertwined our hands...again.

"I'm sorry Princess, but why does your hand felt this way against mine?" She asked all of a sudden and this time I followed my heart and look up at her, this time she's the one not looking because her gaze fix in front of us.

"...It felt good but its not right." She added sounding sad.

I sighed. I don't know what to say.

"Let's, ah, just ah, enjoy this moment Ms. Manoban. You know I'm straight, and I do have a boyfriend." I answered as if convincing myself more than convincing her.

She scoffed and I gasped when I felt that she pinned me in one of the trees there.

I immediately roamed my eyes and sighed in relief when I saw that no one is around. I look up at her when she started talking. I blushed when I noticed our distance. Her lips are inch closer than mine, I can smell her fresh breath.

"I'm more concern that you're the daughter of my mentor than you being straight and committed Ms. Kim....I can make you mine but I won't." She said seriously. "So don't ever fall for me too...cause I can't disappoint your father." She added. Her eyes are blank, as if she's hiding all of her emotion.

She released me and starter to walk again. Leaving me there shocked.

"Yah! Wait for me!" I shouted when I recovered and saw that she's quite far.

I saw that she stopped but not looking at me.

I sighed.

"I don't know what to feel anymore Lisa." I said to myself as I run towards her.

Apologies for the delay. I'm sooo tired and my muscle pain is currently killing me. I hiked two mountains in a same day and its my first time so yeah, I'm so proud of myself 🤣
