We've been flying for quite a while now. Neither Toothless nor I had spoken a word or two, since we left the Hidden World. We flew silently next to each other and pondered our thoughts.

All the time I thought about our children and prayed, that nothing had happened to them. My stomach turned at the idea, that the little ones were flying all alone out here. What if dragon hunters found them? No, I couldn't even think about that.

Wait ... a black outline was emerging in the distance. It looked like ... New Berk! I squinted at Toothless and saw him swallow. I realized, what feelings he must have, when he saw his former home. Excited anticipation ... and fear at the same time.

I took a deep breath and said, "Okay, we'll be right there. The best thing to do is to fly around the island first. But we have to be very careful. We don't know, how the humans will react to us after the long time" My Mate just nodded without taking his eyes off the outline.

A few minutes later we had reached the island and quickly flew into a forest to have a look around. It was winter here and snow was laying everywhere. There were standing human houses and Vikings strolling through the village, laughing happily. It was strange to see them again for the first time after so long in the Freedom. Then we saw the cliff.

Toothless froze, just like me. Together we stared at the cliff from where we once flew to Freedom. That moment was twelve years ago, and yet it felt like it was yesterday. I saw the last hug from my Mate and Hiccup in front of me again, thought I heard the final roar of the Night Fury and how the dragons took off. Now they all live save in the Hidden World.

"Come on, let's fly up there. We'll have a better overview there." said Toothless in a rough voice. I nodded and together we rose into the air and ended up behind some trees.

Only now I realized, that the whole village was decorated and there was a kind of stage below. Vikings were running back and forth everywhere and seemed to be preparing for something. Some people now emerged from behind a curtain. Then we saw him ...
