Cassiopeia Black grew up with more on her plate than the usual teen girl. She didn't get to wear pink dresses or cry over boys who had broken her heart. No. She was stuck worrying about her brothers and what the future holds.

( chapter ) six
IT WAS AROUND A MONTH into the school term, and Cassie had only gotten a handful more detentions, luckily she hadn't had another message from her parents.
She didn't think she could handle it.
Sirius and her had been hanging out at least once a week, they loved each other, even if their parents told them otherwise. The work was slightly harder this year, seeing as it was their OWL year.
They also had a lot of homework, meaning the library was like a second home for Nova and Cassie. That's where they spent all of their spare time, something they both hated.
Cassie let out another groan as she placed her chin in the palm of her hand, her eyebrows furrowed in frustration.
She was currently doing some Transfiguration work, and Professor McGonagall seemed to be making the work harder for them after she had gotten her detention, something she was hating.
Nova chuckled at the girl, shaking her head as she did, dipping her quill in the ink.
"I think right now, I'd rather die than continue this horror." She exclaimed, placing an arm over head in dramatics, Nova began to giggle.
"You're so over dramatic." She said, as she put her quill down, placing her head in her hands and smirked at the girl. The dark-haired girl faked a gasp, placing her hand over her heart in mock hurt. Nova shook her head, giggling again.
"Proves my point." Cassie shook her head at her friend, picking up her quill with another groan.
"This is due tomorrow," She said, flipping over a few pages in her Transfiguration book then looking back at the homework sheet.
"And I have answered two of the fourteen questions."
Nova stifled a snort as she looked at the girl, it was clear as daylight that the girl was absolutely awful at Transfiguration, anyone could tell.
It probably didn't help that she was trying to sleep in her transfiguration class, but that wasn't it. She better at all the other subjects, not the best, but better.
Potions was the class she enjoyed the most, the class she was best at, nearly even better than Lily Evans, and that girl was amazing at potions, but when it came to Transfiguration, she just couldn't get the hold of it.
"Good thing the library is open now then, aye Cass?" The dark-haired girl only let out another groan as she nodded her head, then she began furiously scribbling down something in her parchment, her hand working away at what she hoped was the correct answers.
