CHAPTER NINETY-FIVE

・・・☽✥☾・・・

"IF YOU COULD BE AN INANIMATE OBJECT, what would you be?" Cassie asked while she lay upside-down on her bed; her hair was tied up into a messy bun on top of her head, her wand stuck through the middle of it and her eyes were full of sleep.

The early morning sun was shining through the windows of the girls' dorm, birds outside were chirping and singing loudly and there was a chilled breeze blowing in through the open window. Hardly any clouds were floating in the sky.

It was only a few days into April, but it was evident that Spring had finally come to stay. The grass was greener and looked as if it had been painted when you looked at it from
high up in the castle; flowers were popping up from random areas in the ground and the weather was already slightly warmer.

Marlene was sitting on her bed, which was opposite Cassie's, she was resting her homework on a large book and was trying to scribble the answers down before her lesson. She was still in her pyjamas.

Alice was sitting on her bed, too, besides Marlene's and she was braiding her hair, taft looking in a mirror that rested in the middle of the room to ensure that it looked alright.

Lily was sitting at the one vanity that they all shared. It had a small wooden stool with a cushion on top and was made out of a dark oak that complimented the red tones in the dorm nicely. She was doing her make-up and was halfway through applying her second coat of mascara when Cassie spoke up.

"What-?" Alice asked, she stopped braiding her hair for a moment and looked over at Cassie with an amused smile on her face.

Cassie's face was slowly beginning to turn red as more blood rushed to her head.

"I didn't think you were deaf, Alice." Cassie spoke up.

"But anyways, if you were an inanimate object, what would you be?"

Marlene let out a small snort as she wiped the sleep away from her eyes. She looked up from her homework for a second and shook her head, before she went back to answering the question with a small 'oh!'.

"I want to know what the hell goes on in your mind." Lily spoke up as she looked at Cassie's socked feet in the mirror.

"Maybe I'll tell you all one day, maybe not." Cassie said with her lips pursed into a straight line. "But you'd have more of a chance of finding out if you'd answer my question."

Lily slowly shook her head, she placed her mascara down and picked up her lipgloss. She froze while it was held half-way to her lips and she turned around on her seat to respond to Cassie's question.

"It would be easier to answer if we had actually thought of something that stupid before-"

"Don't call my questions stupid, I take offence to that."

"Well as long as you don't take a gate that's okay." Marlene said before she could stop herself, Cassie sat up and looked at her with an unamused expression on her face.

"That was the worst joke I've ever heard - and I'm fucking dating James Potter."

Marlene poured as she turned her head down in a mock shame.
