CASSIOPEIA BLACK RAN A HAND through her long, black hair as she stopped running.

Instead, she just stood still, her eyebrows creased, a look of anger mixed with confusion etched on her face as she looked out over the Black Lake. Her mind was racing with thoughts, she couldn't believe it. She and Nova had never fought, it just wasn't what they did, and now, they were fighting over a boy?

"Some friend you are." Cassie muttered, kicking the closest stone onto the lake, she watched as it bounced on the top of the ice a few times, before it came to a halt.

"I don't think the Giant Squid wants someone attempting to throw a stone at his face." A voice said from behined the girl, she looked behined her, beofre rolling her eyes slightly before turning back to face the lake.

"I was hoping it will blind him," She began, her frown growing.

"So when I push Nova into the lake, it thinks she's a fish and eats her." Sirius stiffled a snort as he walked forward and stood beside his sister.

The two of them stood there for a few minutes, their silence the loudest thing around.

"What happened in there?" Sirius asked, a look of worry and confusion on his face. The Slytherin let out a shaky breath, white steam filling the air infront of her.

"I don't even know." She muttered, turning to face Sirius, who was already looking at her.

"We were talking one second, and then the next, she was yelling at me." Sirius nodded, but then he shook his head.

"There's more to it than that, and I know it." Cassie looked up at her brother, her eyes widened slightly, she wouldn't meet his gaze.

"Theres nothing else, Sirius, just leave it."

Without another word, the dark-haired girl turned on her heel and walked away, leaving Sirius standing there.

He sighed, looking at the girls retreating figure, before he turned back to the lake, kicking a stone onto the lake. It landed close to the one that was kicked minutes before.

January quickly turned into February, most of the snow melted, leaving puddles on the paths, however, some of it still remained.

Cassie and Nova still hadn't made up, the latter hanging around with other Slytherins, while Cassie spent most of her time in the libary, away from everyone. Sirius was worried about his sister, and the Marauders knew it.
