“Come on, Hurry now” echoed the lead Guardians voice down through the underground tunnel they were traveling currently. Sara had given up trying to run anymore, even if she tried, she was sure her legs might give out. To ease the pain of her sore feet Sara had opted to help the younger Elders assist with the older Elders, some of them were having trouble keeping up with the group as everyone moved further down the tunnel system. Sara could tell some of The Elders were still dealing with the loss of Elder Theokritos but soon enough The Guardians would be getting them to a safe place until everyone could return to New Haeven and start to rebuild.
The light up ahead meant that the exit was not too much further up ahead of them and Sara couldn't wait to get the hell out of the underground tunnel system. She passed on The Elder she was helping to a Guardian before catching up with James who was talking with Guardian Willard. “There you are, I was just explaining to your fellow Child of the Light that Head Guardian Nicole had left me an envelope detailing your next instructions” spoke Guardian Willard as he passed the eveoplope to James who opened it in front of Sara so she would see what was written on the paper.
Written down were very specific instructions for her and James to follow, Nicole made sure to write down that both of them follow each step correctly and not to stray from them no matter what. Guardian Willard would be leading the surviving Elders and Guardians on a boat leaving the harbour of New Port to an unknown location only Guardian Williard knew about, trusted to him by Nicole and the newly appointed acting Elder since Elder Theokritos death. Herself and James were to head to a small private airfield not far from New Port, a car was already waiting for them in town, from the air field they would take a small private airplane to Fiumicino Airport in Rome. Their plane tickets were provided in the envelope.
From the airport they would take the Leonardo Express Train, a shuttle train to Termini Station, Rome’s main train station, tickets for the train ride were also provided for the both of them. Nicole started in her letter that a roman Guardian would meet them at the train station they would receive more information once they arrived in Rome. Sara made sure to say goodbye to The Elders she knew well even for a short time and good luck to Guardian Willard and the rest of the reminding Guardians of the group.
Following the directions they were able to find the parked car in town for them, an on board GPS was pre programed with the location of the private air strip so all James had to do was drive there. While the whole trip between the car ride and the plan trip was met with silence between them, Sara’s mind was racing with all the different things going on. She had never been to Rome before and was quite excited at the thought but it also worried her that Lillian wasn’t coming with them. Not that Lillian couldn’t take care of herself and Sara knew that she could take care of herself, it was just a change that Sara had to get use to.
There was a lot of unknowns facing them in Rome and possibly much danger however James had tried his best during the train ride to Termini Station to ease Sara’a worries. She definitely felt better that James was there with her and she tried her best to relax for his sake.
A voice came over ahead speaking first in Italian,
“Arrivando alla Stazione Termini Si pregadi preparare uscire dal terno Leonadro Express grazie”
Then in English,
“Arriving at Termini Station, please prepare to exit the Leonardo Express Train, thank you”
When the shuttle train doors opened both of them stepped out into the large coward of people coming and going. Sara didn’t know which way they needed to go or where for that matter. They were both lost in the sea of people until James was pointing off somewhere shouting that he had spotted someone off in the distance holding a sign with their name on it. Sara couldn’t see what he was talking about until she followed him finally seeing a young woman with two large men standing with her, a sign was in her hands with both her and James names on it.
