Lillian still couldn’t wrap her mind around the fact that a human knew so much about the hidden supernatural world that co-exist within New Haeven. It was hidden from the humans for a very good reason, history was an excellent example of how humans reacted when they suspected any type of magic or supernatural beings. Many witches hadn’t gotten over the Salem Witch Trials, all the innocent human blood that was spilled just because their fellow humans thought they were witches. She definitely felt very awkward speaking to the Madam Mayor with Lt Perez so close but she trusted the Mayor’s judgement to have Lt Perez present.

Now Lilian was currently traveling the path to Vuzahr Tower with Lt Perez hoping to find some clues there to the current location Noah and Nicole were being held. Being on this route brought back painful memories for when the Order of Shadows cursed Ronin, ultimately turning him into a host body for The Darkness. Just being here made the hurt of him not being here that much stronger and the anger she felt rise coursing through her veins, if she got her hands on one of those Warlocks with the Order of Shadows she was going to show them what true warth meant, she wasn’t afraid to give them a piece of her mind.

Lillian turned her mind back to the question she had earlier before she left her mind drift to other things, “I hope you don’t mind me asking but how did you come to know about our world?”. They took a moment to rest before continuing on, it wasn’t too much further until they reached the Tower, unknown to them if there was going to be any danger facing them when they arrived there. Lt Perez took a seat on a rock surface taking off her travel pack, retreating some water out of her container before answering Lillian's question.

“Both of my parents were Guardians, very skilled and respected among the Guardianship. I grew up in the lifestyle, knew about the Order and its history. The world in which they were fighting against, the creatures of unholy means. I had even planned in following in their footsteps one day like most children of Guardians but that all changed the day they were killed. My parents were ambushed by a Clan of rogue vampires bent on breaking the laws places between the Guardians and the Clan set long ago. From that day on I vowed to never become a Guardian. Instead I chose the path of a civilian, I saw how much the human world needed protecting from the horror of the supernatural world. So I became a cop, if I couldn’t help New Haeven as a Guardian I knew I could as a police officer”

She went on to explain she had worked hard to get to the rank she was at now and Mayor Hammond had entrusted her with all cases related to supernatural encounters involving humans. It was too bad Lillian knew that Lt Perez would have been an excellent addition to the Guardianship ranks but she could see how much passion she had for her current job. She also knew Lt Perez parents were looking down on her watching the woman she had become and even though she hadn’t followed in their footsteps, they would still be very proud of everything she had done in her life.

Nightfall was fast approaching signaling them that they needed to reach the Tower by the time night had fallen this way they could use it to their advantage.

Lillian didn’t know if the Tower was going to be guarded or not for all they knew it could be totally empty, they wouldn’t know until they reached there and scoped it out. Night creeped up on them fast as they took a slow approach to the Tower. From the outside it looked totally empty but appearances could be deceiving, Lillian activated the witchlight Nicole had left for her to borrow, so they could have some light to illuminate the inside of the Tower.

The witchlight floated along leaving Lillian to have her weapon drawn and Lt Perez to have her hand gripping her gun holster on the side of her hip. She would only draw her weapon if need be, Lillian would be the main attack force. Once the Tower had been checked everywhere and cleared, they focused on searching for any clues in Warlock Ocrius study chamber, they must have left in a hurry because scrolls were scattered across the floor. Everything had been removed from the Tower it looked like no one had been here for sometime now.

Even with this being true Lillian knew The Darkness had been here at some point, Ronin was still part of the unholy creature because of Ronin’s soul being attached to The Darkness, Lillian could feel a small part of their soulmate bond essense drifting through the air. There was a drafted blueprint for some type of building stuffed inside a drawer in a desk located in the study chamber. While there were no details on the location of said building Lillian would still bring it back to City Hall to have it analize.

“Over here I think I found another clue” shouted Lt Perez voice from another room. Lillian followed the sound of her voice until she found the room Lt Perez was in. “What did you find?”. Lillian asked following Lt. Perez pointed finger to a set of bloody bandages. “Nicole left us a clue, they were here at some point. We can use a location spell on these to track where they have been and where they are currently being held”.

She didn’t have contact with their allied Coven of witches since the day of the attack on The Circle by The Darkness and his army but Lillian did happen to have one hidden way in a guardian safe house, the church in New Haeven had been stocked with all kinds of weapons and magical objects. It was perfect for the current situation because of it being a holy site, no unholy  creatures could enter. Lillian suggested that they get out of here before sunrise or someone came back and discovered them poking around the Tower, they had enough information to try and piece together where Nicole and Noah might be.

The two of them managed to arrive at the pick up point just as the sun was rising over the mountain range. Lt Perez radioed into headquarters for them to come and get them, about 20 mins later a truck showed up with Sgt. Reed driving it. He had been making a supply run to New Port when he had received the order to pick them up on the way back from Cpl. Owens over the radio. On the drive back to City Hall Sgt. Reed had told them he had to come up with a cover story because the residents of New Port were unaware of the true nature going on in New Haeven.

Most everyone else thought it was some type of disaster that had caused the mass evacuation of New Haeven. Sgt. Reed had come to realize that something else was going on during his journey with Lillian earlier. As it stood Sgt. Reed, Lt. Perez and of course the Madam Mayor were the only humans who knew exactly what was happening. Back at Headquarters Lillian had handed over the blueprint to Cpl.Owens for him to research anything they could get from it. Lillian prepared to journey back into the dangerous streets of New Haeven alone.

She wanted it that way it would be much quicker and safer for her to go alone but once again Mayor Hammond didn’t agree, the last thing the mayor wanted was something happening to the best and only Guardian they had at the moment. As much as she wanted to disagree with her the Mayor did have a good point. Lt. Perez offered to travel with Lillian again having no choice but to bring her along both of them headed out of City Hall and towards the church.

Lillian leading the way with Lt. Perez following behind, problem was she only knew the general direction of the church not the exact location Lillian hadn’t been there herself. It was only second hand information Nicole had provided to her before they had parted way during the separate group missions. Nicole had told her about the church in case Lillian needed supplies or a safe place to lay low. As a last resort the Guardians could meet there if something happened to the others they had been assigned with.

This of course had never happened because Nicole and Noah had been taken before they could make it out of the building they had been hiding in. In the distance Lillian spotted the church, untouched by all the descuation and chaos throughout the city. Taking a moment to scope out any dangers, when the coast was clear both Lillian and Lt. Perez cautiously approached the steps, wood planks had been places to board up the front entrance Lillian guessed to prevent looters from getting inside.

So they made their way around back, all the windows and doors had been boarded up. “How are we going to get inside now?” commented Lt. Perez. Lillian was thinking the same thing when she spotted a solid steel door at the basement entrance of the church. Looking closer there was no door handle to open it but some type of black box on the side with a red scanner. Lillian knew what needed to be done, she pulled up the sleeve on her right arm revealing the inked Guardian symbol tattooed there.

Simply placing the tattoo under the red scanner light, several clicking sounds echoed from inside the basement as the door unlocked and swung open for them.
