Eikko and Me- A Selection Story

Chapter 3

When we got down to the ballroom, the doors were closed. Eikko offered his arm, and I took it. He spun me around and kissed me. It was soft and short because we were startled by Officer Leger when he opened the door.

"I don't mean to interrupt you, but we are ready for you two in the ballroom."

"Thanks, Aspen. Can we have one minute though? I need to breathe before I see all these faces, and I am sure Eikko needs to as well."

"Of course your majesties. I will have Neena come get you two." And with that, he walked back into the ballroom. I could tell that people were anxious to see us because I heard a bunch of sighs when he closed the door.

"So, are you ready to dance the night away, my husband" I questioned.

"As long as my beautiful wife and queen is by my side."

And with that, Neena came out to tell us that it was time to go in. Eikko offered his arm, and I looked at him, smiled, and took it.  We stepped to the side so we were not seen right away, and I waited for the door to open again.

The door open about thirty seconds later. I heard Gavril announcing, " Will you now please join me in welcoming our prince consort and queen of Illea! Queen Eadlyn Helena Margarete Schreave de Koskinen and Prince Consort Eikko Petteri Koskinen!" I heard applause from every way I looked. We stepped into the doorway and walked into the beautifully decorated ballroom.

There was a light pink velvety carpet we walked down. There were circular tables all around the room. They had white table cloths, with a light pink table runner. They all had different flower arrangements. There were red, white, and pink flowers in beautiful vases on all of the tables. Straight ahead was a long table. It had two place cards that said  Eikko and I's names on them. Near that was another large circular table for me and Eikko's parents, siblings, and my sister-in-law. There was a large area to the side for dancing, and I stared around at it in awe.

"Can I have this dance, my queen?" I look back at my husband and see him smiling at me. I could not help but giggle and smile back.

"You may Prince Consort Eikko." We danced as the small band and orchestra group we hired played. It all felt like a dream to me. I waited to be awakened, but I was not. I realized my soulmate and I were together forever in an irreplaceable bond. When the song ended, he twisted me around, grabbed my waist, dipped me down, and kissed me again. I listened to the huge applause and then turned around to see both my parents and his parents. They were standing there, being extremely elegant. I could not help but blush.

"We just wanted to say, we are extremely proud and happy for you two. Good luck with him though, he can be-" Mrs. Koskinen said. I just blushed even harder and saw Eikko turn into a tomato. I loved how is mom described him, and my parents were chuckling along too, and making occasional comments.

A few minutes later, when she finished, Dad started to talk. "Eadlyn, may I have a dance with my beautiful daughter?"

"Of course Daddy!" Everybody started to giggle. Mom and Eikko's parents started to walk to the table, but Eikko gave me a soft quick kiss on the forehead before he joined them. He sat in my dad's seat and had a conversation with them.

Dad looked into my eyes, as we started to dance. "I am so proud of you Eady. I don't even know the words to say how proud I am of you. Eikko and you will be one of the best prince consort and queen pairs we have had in the history of Illea. I love you beyond words, and am the luckiest father in the world."

I started to tear up, and I put my head on his shoulder. He did the same, and we danced like that for the rest of the song.

The rest of the night went smoothly and I talked to my guests and several past selected. I found out that Ean and Hale were getting married. Henri found a new girlfriend back in Sota, and she came along as his plus one. Fox remained single and has no plans on changing that.

When the reception ended, Eikko picked me up bridal style and carried me to my room. When we got there, he set me down and kissed me. It was a short kiss, but I knew it meant everything. I opened the door, and he followed me in, with his arm around me. I closed the door and went to the bathroom to get changed. I had a new maid, named Iva who surprisingly was already in there.

"Your majesty," she curtailed, "I saw you were about to leave, so I thought I would come and help you get out of your dress. I remembered that it had lots of buttons, and you could use the help. I also set out a nightgown. I don't know if you will need it though." She winked at me, and I cringed at her. She just giggled at me.

"Thank you, Iva. And yes, I will use the nightgown." She helped me get changed, and left the room through the room that connected with Eikko's. He had not moved in it yet, so he would not mind.

I walked out of the bathroom, not surprised to find my husband waiting for me. I embraced him and then went into the bed. He followed me, not far behind. I now realize that I had lied to Iza. I didn't really use the nightgown.

This chapter took me a while to come up with! I wanted to keep it as clean as I could with exciting factors included! I can't wait for you guys to find out what happens next! {It is kind of crazy ;)}
