Eikko and Me- A Selection Story

Chapter 9

The Halloween ball was one of the best things that have happened this year, even though we did not win. It comes third to EIkko and I's wedding and the pregnancy news though. I hung out with Eikko most of the night. Aunt May was talking to the reporters half the time. I thought it was funny that she was so popular. Mom always joked about Aunt May being more popular than her. I know she will be all over the magazines this week.

 After the Halloween ball ended, Eikko and I went back to our room. I was getting tired, and Eikko looked pretty tired as well. He was a bit more awake than me though. We walked close together, holding each other's hands. I leaned into his fuzzy costume, so my head was on his shoulder.

We soon arrived at our room, and I go over to the door that connects our rooms. I go into my room, where Iva is waiting for me. I sit down at the vanity, while she helps get my makeup and hair undone for bed. I try to stay awake, but this pregnancy is making me tired. When that is off, Iva grabs my nightgown, and I go to the bathroom to change into it. When I get out of the bathroom, I dismiss Iva and go to the connecting door. I knock, and Eikko lets me in. I head over to our bed, and we both get in it. Eikko cuddles me close. 

"I love you Eikko."

"I love you Eadlyn." I smile into his chest before falling right back to sleep.

The next morning, I wake up and Eikko was not there. I sit up and see a note on my nightstand. I pick it up and read it. 

I went to the meeting for you. You were still sleeping, and I did not want to wake you up after yesterday's eventful day. I love you, and I can't wait for the report tonight. -Eikko

I smile at the note, and start to feel a little bad. I look over at the clock to see it is 11:00. I guess the ball had me wiped out. He had to go to the meeting for me. I know Dad still goes to the meetings because he is helping while I am pregnant. I told him not to, but he said that he was going no matter what I say. He also wants to help Eikko out, so he is not swarmed by Silvia. I laughed at that one. Silvia is not easy to please. I guess I will have to get ready for the day, so I head over to the connecting door. Iva was in there, and we get to work.

I check the time, and it is now 5:30. The report will be on in a half-hour. I am dressed and ready for it, I am just waiting for Eikko. I look into the mirror to make sure my makeup and hair have not messed up already. I turn sideways, and see the tiniest baby bump. I smile as EiIkko looks over at me, confused. I turn so he can see. He smiles at me, and comes to hug me. He kisses me and then bends down to my stomach.

"Hi little one. It is your daddy. I love you. Please be nice to your mommy." I laugh at that one, and Eikko laughs as well. He kisses my stomach and stands up from his kneeling position. He looks into my eyes and hugs me.  I want to hold on to that hug for forever, but I know that the report is starting soon. He pulls away and looks into my eyes.

"We should probably go downstairs to get ready for the report." I nod at him, and he offers me his arm. I gladly take it, and we happily walk out of our room together. We go down to the report set, and see that everybody is ready. There are about ten minutes until we air live, so we have some time until it starts. Mom and Dad are talking with the Legers and the Woodworks, so I just sit and talk with Eikko in our thrones. 

"Are you ready to tell everybody Eikko?" He looks at me intently and nods.

"I know they will all be excited. Do you remember when everybody found out your mom was pregnant with Kaden and later Osten? The whole country had a party!" I laughed at that. I do remember. I know deep down inside this will be a joy to the whole world.  He grabs my hand, and gives it a light squeeze. I look at him, and smile. I do not know what I would do without him as my husband. 

I check the clock to see we have two minutes. My family comes and joins us in the platformed area we are on, and they sit down. Mom gives me a wink, knowing that I must be stressed. Are you ready? She mouths at me, and I nod. She smiles at me and goes back to talking to Dad. Gavril walks up to the podium, and I see that the timer is going off. We are live. Eikko and I sit taller, as the Illea anthem is on. Gavril starts by saying some announcements, and then soon enough, he calls Eikko and me over saying we have some news to share.

Eikko squeezes my hand a little as we walk up to the podium. I squeeze his hand back, smiling.

"Hello Illea. We have some exciting news to share with the country." I take a deep breath and continue. 

"Prince Consort Eikko and I have recently found out that I am pregnant." All of a sudden, the whole room starts gasping, and there is a lot of applause. We smile and tell everybody to be ready for next June and July with the new royal baby. The report soon goes off, and I smile at Eikko. The world now knows. We smile at each other. This baby is the change that we all need right now. Our family is unstoppable together.

Hi everybody! I don't know why, but I was struggling with this chapter! I like how it turned out, but I probably will go back and edit later! So, I'm sorry if it does not make sense. Thanks for reading. This story is actually coming to a close! There will be one (maybe two) more chapters!
