Chapter 24: Somewhere out there

TAEHYUNG'S POV

"How about we split up h-hyung?" I suggested, still looking at the list of people with the same name as Loriel's.

"Ohh that will do." Jin hyung agreed, but looked hesitant. "But, are you sure you're fine on your own? You can't speak in english for a long conversation." He added. I hummed in reply and then answered.

"I think I can manage." I smiled. "Besides, it's not in my vocabulary." I joked.

"Yah! You're getting better at avoiding your stutters." He exclaimed with a joyous expression.

"I've been practicing for her you know? I promised." I grinned, also proud of this achievement.

"Well, I suppose we can go separate ways to make the search faster." He shrugged, taking the other copy from my hand.

We divided our work and decided who will go to the east and west, as well as north and south.

"See you later Taehyungie! Good luck!" He cheered before hailing a cab.

"You too h-hyung!" I waved him goodbye and went on my way to the nearest address on my list.

Let's just say the day went by and I've met different people with identical names, and yet I haven't seen the one I'm looking for.

Then I saw a nearby park and thought it might be good to rest for a while since I've been roaming around the town for a long period of time.

I sat down and take deep breaths. Before looking at the sky. The sun's almost setting and I'm still here looking for a person who does not want to be found. And then I thought, was that enough to stop me? I guess not, because I know too well that I'm just as stubborn as her.

I felt a tug on my pants, making me look down, a bit startled. Looking up at me was a cute korean child wearing pigtails. I smiled at the cute kid and crouched down a bit to talk to her.

"Hey there! Is there something you need from me?" I asked politely.

"Mister do you know me?" She asked. I got confused, but patiently answered her question.

"No sweetie, why? Do you recognize me?" I asked her with a soft voice in case she needed comfort.

"No. But do you know m-my mother?" She asked. Her eyes getting a bit teary, making my stomach sink.

"I'm sorry sweetie, but I don't." I replied. "But if you want we can look for her together. Do you want that?" I asked, wanting to give her a bit of hope.

"But w-what if she le-left?" She sobbed. I was quick to pick her up and carry her fragile form, while rubbing circles on her back. My heart ached for the kid. I somewhat feel that we're in the same situation, yet I hope not; at least not for someone like her.

"Shhhhh... Don't cry. Oppa will help you find her, okay?" I assured her and she nodded meekly. " Have you asked for anyone's help other than me?" I asked. She quickly shake her head and answered. " No, because I can't understand them. You looked like me so I came to you."

I chuckled at her reply. She seems so honest and innocent, good thing she went to me for help or else someone might take advantage of her since she isn't from here. "You're smart to look for a korean to help you. Good thing I'm here then." I told her. She nodded quickly and smiled with one of her front tooth missing. Oh God! She's adorable!

I realized that it's almost dark, so we immediately started looking for her mom. I learned more about the kid. Her name is Eunhee and she's five years old.

"Where did you last see your mother earlier?" I asked as we crossed the road. "We were eating ice cream, then I saw a beautiful white cat and followed it. Then when I turn around the shop was gone." She replied softly, with a sad expression on her face.

"I'm sure she is somewhere out there; maybe even waiting for you at the ice cream shop. Cheer up Eunhee! We'll find her I know it." I pat her head as she smiled a bit and nodded.

Soon enough after passing by several shops, I saw a commotion at a certain shop ahead of us. Getting nearer I saw a woman crying asking the people around her, now that I realize it she is standing infront of a ice cream shop.

I hurriedly picked up Eunhee and ran towardsthat direction. Soon enough, Eunhee started trashing in my arms reaching for her mom.

"E-Eomma!!!! Mianhe!!" She wailed. The mother hugged her tight and gave her a bunch of kisses on her face, then looked my way with a nod as an expression of gratitude. I smiled at the two and waved them goodbye, when Eunhee suddenly called out to me.

"Taehyung-sshi!!!!"  I looked at her with a confused expression. "Your girlfriend is somewhere out there too! You will see her soon like how you saw my mom! Take care oppa!" She screamed at the top of her lungs and waving happily.

I was shocked, but somehow I felt hopeful because of what she said. I grinned and bowed at the both of them before leaving.

I was so busy with my thoughts of her when I suddenly heard something purring. I looked down and saw a white cat with green eyes looking straight at me. Weirded out, I made a shooing motion, yet the cat still remained at its place and meowed at me. Suddenly she ran towards my direction and jumped on me, making me fell down on the floor because I was too surprised of the cat's action. She sat on my tummy and tilted her head as she stared straight at my eyes. Then I realized something.

"Hey, you're the cat that Eunhee was talking about! You led her away from her mom, you rascal!" I joked and scratch her behind ear making her purr louder, I chuckled at its cute response.

"Off you go sweetie! I need to go home." I told the cat, even though I know it will not reply. I picked it up from my tummy and place it back on the ground, but she bit on my ends of my pants and kept tugging on it.

I crouched down and sighed then patted cat on its head. "You're a troublemaker aren't you? I need to go sweetie." This time the cat stop tugging at took off. I sighed in relief and stretched a bit, my body ached for looking around town the whole day. I turned around to go home, but I saw something that I didn't expect seeing.

"L-Loriel???"
