In Love With The Devil

Chapter 6

I thanked Grace and Amy one more time and went  and answered the door. Roland was standing there waiting his back was to me and he turned around. When he did he was holding a small bouquet of flowers which were handed to me. I offered him inside while I put the flowers in water. After he helped me put  on my coat and we left. His car was parked outside my apartment and opened  the door for me. When we got i  the car he said " you look amazing." I blushed and replied "thank you, you look pretty good yourself."

I then scolded myself for saying that since I don't even totally know what he's wearing due to his coat. He chuckled and replied "thanks." We drove in silence, I wasn't really sure what to say. We pulled up to a restaurant I've never seen before. Roland opened my door for me and we walked inside. It was a nice restaurant, beautiful and perfect for a first date. We were immediately seated at a table overlooking a small indoor garden. My nerves were shot. He pulled the chair out for me and helped me out of my coat.

He took of0f 0his own 0coat and he was wearing a black, long sleeved button down shirt. He looked good in black, it seemed to fit him. He sat down and started asking questions; like how I got my job?, Do I have any family?, What was my favorite animal?,and so on. I answered each accordingly; I got my job after high school and been working there since, while trying to save enough money to launch a clothing line, I have a brother who still lives with my parents more in the country side, and my favorite animal would be dog. After I answered his questions and before he could ask more I ask "Where do you work, do you have any family, and what's your favorite animal?"

He chuckled and replied "believe it or not I am a mythology professor, well I specialize in angles. No I don't have any family left and my favorite animal.... I'm going to have to go with snakes." I let that sink in, I felt bad that he didn't have any family so I replied "I'm so sorry." He smiled and said "It's quit alright it happened a long time ago." I thought about what he said; a professor he must be older than he looked so I said "I don't mean to be rude but how old are you?" "Twenty-two, now I have a question, what kind of clothing line were you thinking or trying to launch?" Twenty-two that was a year older than me or so depending on the month since I turn twenty-two on February 29th, well the 28th since it's not a leap year.

I looked at him and answered "I want to launch a women clothing line that can be for work or going out with friends, for example I made this." I motioned to the dress I was wearing and it was true. Roland looked amazed soon we were eating and still talking and I got my question answered on how he was so young and yet a high end college professor. He had a mentor while he was still in high school so he went to college right after, graduated first in his class and became a professor. We sat and talked for hours, I learned so much about him as he learned stuff about me.

Roland put me at ease and was so easy to talk to and a lot of fun. We had each other laughing and I can't remember the last time I laughed that hard. The evening seemed to end all to soon. He drove me home and walked me to the door. AT the door I looked at him and stated "I had a lot of fun tonight, thank you." Roland smiled and replied "as did I Valerie, I hope we can do it again soon." I smiled and said "I would like that very much." He pecked me on the lips and replied "goo, I will call you tomorrow and we will set up another date." I nodded and he walked away and got in his car he gave one last was as did I and drove off. I unlocked the door and went inside. I locked the door behind me, got ready for bed, and just laid in bed thinking about everything I learned about him.
