In Love With The Devil

Chapter 10

Work was slow so I took out a notebook and started to write down everything that happened in my dreams and and the dates they occurred. I figured I better write it all down before I forget. I mean they were so different, the first was straight out creepy and still gives me goosebumps but the other was well... fun,weird but fun. It doesn't make any sense. Then I started to think about Roland, he's so different from anyone I've ever met.

I went and did my rounds at the tables and when I came back my phone was lit up. I looked at it and saw that Roland just called me. I smiled and texted him 'sorry I can't talk I'm at work, I work the afternoon shift today, Val.' He immediately texted back 'that's okay, I'll talk to you later." I then text Amy telling her he called. I was so happy, and even though there weren't many customers the time went quick. Soon the waitress for the evening shift came in so I clocked out and went home. Once inside I put all my containers from lunch in the sink so I could wash them after dinner.

I then grabbed my design book and started sketching a nice outfit. A shirt with quarter length sleeves, and feather designs on the shoulders that go down the sleeves and onto the back. The shirt itself was black and the feathers were gray and cloudy white. I then started on the pants, jeans would be best, dark blue almost black. Cuffed on the bottom and go about mid calf. With maybe a few gray and white feathers that look to be falling out of the one pocket. I really liked how they turned out, now I just needed to get material then I could make them. Just as I was adding some more details to the feathers with my colored pencils, my phone rang. It was Roland, I immediately answered and said "hello?" As I continued adding details. He replied "hey, you home?" "Yep, you?" He chuckled and said "not yet, we had a briefing about some changes going on." That didn't sound good or he didn't sound to happy about it so I asked "is everything okay?" He sighed and said "yeah they just made some cuts on some of the classes luckliy mine wasn't, due to there being a lot of students taking mythology his year..." he paused then said "now let me stop boring you with that, what you up too?"

I laughed and replied "that was not boring, but I'm glad to hear your class is still going and I'm drawing a new design well finishing it I should say." "Hmm" was all he said and I could picture him nodding then he asked "is it a dress?" I smiled and replied "no it's a shirt and a pair of pants nothing special." He gasped and stated "well that's where I disagree anything you design is special because you took the time to draw it and make it." I couldn't help but blush he seemed so forward and he seemed to really mean it as well. "Thanks..." Before I could say more he shyly asked "will I be able to look at your designs someday?" I never really shone anyone my design book, I mean Amy and Grace saw a few of them but never the whole book.

After a moments thought I replied "yes, and to be honest you would be the first to look through the entire thing, that is if you want to look through the entire thing." I was rambling because I was nervous, what would he think of them, will he laugh at me, or will he like them. I heard him laugh and say "why wouldn't I want to look at the whole thing?" I smiled, I was liking him more and more. Then I heard someone in the background say something and I heard him sigh and say "I'll be right there." He then said to me "I'm sorry Valerie, but I have to go, and how does Friday sound for our next date, say six o'clock?" "Yeah, that will be perfect, talk to you soon." All I heard was "hmm, bye Valerie." "Bye." It came out like a whisper but I know he heard me, he hung up, so I did as well.

I cleaned up all my colored pencils and put them and my sketch book away. I then made dinner and relaxed. I hope everything is alright with Roland and I couldn't  wait until Friday. I was also happy it was Wednesday, but was wishing it was Thursday. Thankfully I had Friday off so I could take my time getting ready. I ate and cleaned up all the dishes. I then watched some T.V. then went to bed.
