I woke up to the sound of lightning striking wood, at least, I think it was wood, followed by the deafening sound of thunder jolting me wide awake
'What the-!? Huh? Where am I? More importantly, why am I laying in water!?' as I thought that, thunder suddenly roared, snapping me out of my thoughts
'EEK! Time to get up!'
I quickly sprung up and took a quick look around, I seemed to be in the middle of a lightly forested area, and also seemed to be so deep in water, that when I was lying down, the water was just below my nose! And it didn't help that it was raining so hard either!
'Where the hell am I!? When I passed out there weren't any trees around! And there definitely weren't any water around either, especially this much!'
Once again I was shaken out of my thoughts by the sound of fighting not far away, it sounded like antlers colliding. And I swear I heard fire crackling, even though that should've been impossible, since it'd been raining so heavily that the whole area was flooded, and besides, water kills wood fires right?
There was another flash, as lightning struck one of the trees nearby. The resulting thunder made me feel like jumping out of my own fur. But the loud thunder isn't all that scared me as I realized I was standing in water, completely soaked, and in a bad thunderstorm. If lightning hit the water even close to me, I'd be fried to death! And that would be a very painful death
'Okay, now it's really time to go!'
I quickly took off running to try and make it out of the water to somewhere safe and dry. That wasn't as easy as it sounds considering the lack of visibility, no thanks to the heavy rains, the weird heavy fog, and it being night-time
I was struggling to run without tripping over something or slipping on loose ground, and because of how deep the water was, it was even harder to move fast. The water was rising and it was now so much higher that my legs were half submerged. If I were to lay down I'd be completely submerged due to how high the water has gotten
'What do I do, what do I do!? The water's still rising!! I can't run far because of this damn water! I can't climb up a tree because one, I don't think foxes can even climb trees, and two, because of the lightning! Not that being in water is any better, if anything, it's even worse because it's certain death once electrified! Speaking of that, why is the water getting so high in the first place? Weell, at least I'm not going to be thirsty anymore! Hehehe'
After about ten minutes of running around aimlessly, I somehow managed to spot something big off in the distance, what ever it was it was big! I then began running towards it. After fifteen minutes or so I finally made it to what turned out to be a mountain
'This mountain is huge! How the hell did I miss it for so long? I mean, I guess I could have missed it while I trying to avoid that eagle like thing but still! It's a MOUNTAIN!'
Looking at the mountain, I noticed it had rocks put in places that made it seem like you were meant to go that way, almost like a path. Some were flat, well flat as you can get on a mountain, and some were rough and jagged. I didn't stay still for long though as the water was getting so high that I no longer had to run through it, but now had to struggle to simply stay afloat! I couldn't stand in the water anymore, I was now being forced to swim, but I don't know how to swim! I just learnt to walk a day ago! A day!!
So despite knowing that the higher you get the more likely lightning is going to strike, I did my best to swim towards the path. And that was hell, it was terrifying! I sunk under the water TEN TIMES! Each time I sunk, I managed to panically make it back up, only to slip back under the water again a few seconds later. I eventually managed to paddle my way to the base of the mountain and pulled myself up onto it
