I woke up feeling extremely warm, it was so cosy that I almost fell asleep again as soon as I woke up. I lay there for a few minutes, trying to stay awake and was failing

'So... sleepy... hm?... So warm... where...am I?'

I sleepily opened my eyes but quickly shut them again, instinctively covering them with my paws, because as soon as I opened them, all I could see was an extremely bright light, it felt almost as if I was staring at the sun itself

'Ack! *Whining* So bright! Why's it so bright?'

I was starting to greatly regret opening my eyes as the light was now starting to seep in, and in retaliation to the light, I curled up and covered my face with my fluffy tail, which worked surprisingly well as it blocked out all the light. Well, most of it anyway

I was starting to drift off back to sleep when something suddenly, very loudly hit the ground near me, nearly giving me a heart attack, and making me jump away from the sound and into a wall

'EEK!! What the hell was that!?'

I quickly looked to see what it was that dared impede my approaching comfortable sleep, the culprit was a small brightly glowing crystal, it looked kinda purple, maybe pink?

Looking up to see where it fell from, I was mesmerised, immediately entranced by what I saw. The roof of the entire cave was covered with bright glowing crystals of different sizes, staring at the crystals, I noticed that when the light of one crystal hits another, the crystal it hits reflects that light in a different colour to every crystal around itself, causing the roof to look like a constantly changing rainbow

'So... pretty...!'

I stood there for awhile, staring at the lights completely entranced until I was snapped out of it when the crystal on the ground suddenly let out a bright purplish pink flash

'Huh!? What the-? Did it just flash?'

I curiously crept closer to it

'This one's different from the rest, it's so much prettier!'

While looking at the crystal, I got this sudden urge to explore

'Hmm, I'll come back to this later, as since I'm awake now, I might as well explore a bit! And besides, this might be my new temporary home. What? No! How the heck am I going to get food? Or water? If I somehow manage to climb down the mountain, I'm certainly never making it back up again! Whatever, that's a problem for later, what I need to do now is explore!'

I started walking around and after about fifteen minutes I seemed to have explored most of the cave, so I returned back to where I woke up. The cave was relatively big. No, it was HUGE, it could practically be a full blown house! The ceiling was ridiculously high up too! And no, that's not just because of how small I was! But that wasn't all! There were burn marks everywhere. In fact, most of the main big area looked as if it was scorched for hours by a very powerful flamethrower. There were also huge claw marks on the ground and walls here and there, almost as if-

'There must have been a big battle that took place here, ooh, what was being fought? And who was doing the fighting?'

...*Sigh*... anyway, I looked up again and saw the crystals, and decided to follow them into a random direction. I kept following them, and the further I followed them the darker everything got, which might have been due to the crystals getting smaller and smaller the further I went, until eventually it was just darkness. The only thing giving me any idea of where I was going was my ability to see in the dark. I kept walking forward, I mean surely it doesn't go on forever right?
