Chapter 14

I woke up feeling sleepy, as if I didn't get much rest

'Where... am I?'

I opened my eyes slightly and looked around sleepily. I was quickly woken up by the eerie silence, there was not a sound, at all, it was just pure silence. It sent shivers up my spine

I quickly looked around me, and all I saw was darkness. Not the "I can't see anything" kind of darkness, but more like the world around me was just darkness, it was all pure solid black. It was weird, I could see myself clearly just fine, as if I was in broad daylight, but everything around me was just... black, like looking into a starless space

'What the... what is this place? Why is everything so dark? I can't see anything! Well I guess not entirely, since I can still see my paws!' I said as I looked down at them

What was even weirder was the fact that there was nothing below me, just infinite darkness, but yet, I wasn't floating, I was clearly laying on solid ground. It took a moment for my brain to register what it was seeing, and when it did-

'Wha-? AHHH!!!'

I sprung up in panic, not that it would help much if I was actually falling or floating, but anyway, I landed back down on the ground, that I couldn't see, in fact I couldn't even feel it. It was like it wasn't there, the only thing proving its existence was the fact I was on it and not falling anymore. It almost seemed like I was walking on a platform made of air

'What the hell!? Where am I!? This place doesn't make any sense!''

I began spinning around frantically hoping to see something that actually made sense... but all that did was make me dizzy and almost trip over myself twice in my daze

'Eugh, that's... no good...'

I quickly shook my head to shake off the dizzyness, in doing so, I made myself lose balance and fell down

'Ow... hm? Huh? I can't- I can't smell the floor, no, I can't smell anything! Besides myself!... heh? Why do I smell like roses? What's that about? No wait! Why can I only smell myself? Hmm, I can smell soph and sy's scents on me as well, but I can't smell anything else besides what's coming from me. The heck? What is going on!? What is this place!? And why do I still smell like roses!!'

A whole minute of pure silence passed by

'*Sigh* Alright! New plan! Let's think about this sensibly and not do anything stupid again! So! I must be dreaming right? Otherwise, how did I get here? And how do I get out?' At that moment a thought popped into my head

'Wait, a dream? Didn't I think the same thing back then? In that volcanic whatever the hell it was? Ah! Right! I forgot!'

I quickly stood up

'System! Are you there?'

A few moments of silence went by

'System?'

More silence

'H-Hello?'

I was met with silence once again, as a huge weight came crashing down on me. Metaphorically!! Not literally!

'Oh...' For some reason, at the realisation that system was not there, I felt... empty... lonely, perhaps even lost, hopeless... abandoned

'Hmph! Why am I even feeling any of this!? I was fine in the volcanic place! And I was fine most of my time without her during my time with the humans!....' as soon as said the last part, my ears drooped and I slumped to the ground in a sudden bout of uncontrollable sadness

'I hate it here.... none of this makes any sense....' I could feel tears welling up, so I shut them in an attempt to resist them

'It's so quiet... I'm all alone... in an unknown place... that doesn't make any sense... is it... the void?... The abyss?... I hate it...'

Something somewhat bright started shining through my eyelids, so I half opened my eyes, and through my blurry vision, I noticed a strange white  light

'Huh?...'

I blinked away the tears and looked towards the light. It was a big white star, it looked far away, yet, so close, as if I could run to it. It wasn't in the sky, from what I could guess, it seemed to be on top of the "ground". Oh and the star was well, in the shape of a star! Does that make sense? Probably not. Just like this place! Ahem, anyway!

'A... star?... Where'd it, come from?'

I subconsciously looked down as I was beginning to stand up, and noticed the star's white light streaking off the ground at my feet, going all the way to the star itself in a straight line

But that wasn't the only light. There were two others, one on either side, running alongside it, their colours melding together with the white light in the middle. The left one angled off to the left in a cone like shape while sticking to the middle line, the right side light angled in the same way towards the right. The left light was a darkish light red, that led to a giant star of the same colour, and the right was... royal purple? I think that's what the colour's called, anyway! It also led to a purple star!

'Wow... this looks so... pretty...! Huh? Wait, why are they coloured like that? And how is the light on the ground like this!? And- woah...' I looked to side and saw how mesmerisingly beautiful it was, the entire left side of this place was shadowed in the red hue from the red star, the right side was the same except it was purple

'It's all so... pretty'

I was completely entranced by it, it was just so, beautiful! It's hard to explain, but it was like looking at a nebula close up. I was soon snapped right out of the trance as everything quicky faded to black
