"EVERYBODY MAKE SOME NOISEEEEEEE!" I yelled at the already screaming crowd. The cheers got even louder and I looked around admiring them all. The spotlight was blinding, but it didn't matter. I stood in front of thousands of people, but it didn't matter. All I knew was that this was where I was supposed to be. This was my fate. This was my dream.

Now that I mention dream...

"CLAIRE! I'M LEAVING NOW!" My mother's voice yelled across the crowd. The cheers started fading, and I was left to look at the darkness of my closed eyelids. "CLAIRE! I WANT A HUG BEFORE LEAVING FOR THE DAY!" My mom yelled, and I opened my eyes. The dark room made me wanna go back to sleep, but oh well...

I stretched my arms above my head as I swung my legs over the edge of the bed. I grabbed my phone from the bedside table and rushed down the stairs. But like always the last few steps, just seemed to turn into a slide. I felt my feet leave solid ground and next thing I know, I'm laying on the floor at the end of the steps.

"Auch" I hiss as I rub my back. My mom comes rushing out from the kitchen. "We should really install a slide instead of these stairs, huh? Your father thought you would grow from your clumsiness, but no no... It gets worse with age," She shakes her head as she helps me to my feet. "You're leaving already?" I ask and gives her a hug. "Yep. A working woman got to do her job. Especially as the owner and head chef... We have a big dinner to prepare for later." I take down her coat from the hanger and helps her get it on.

"Thank you, love. Now go eat some breakfast and enjoy your morning. Your father will pick you up later and take you to grab some lunch," She kisses my forehead and grabbed her bag. "Wait... He is?" I asked dumbfounded. My dad is a doctor, you see. He doesn't really have time to other stuff than work.

"Of course. But remember to look at your phone beforehand. You know something can come up last minute," She says before the elevator closes, and she leaves me in the big apartment by myself.

Well, as the daughter of a successful and reputable doctor and a successful chef, who owns her own popular restaurant, I live a pretty good life. I live in a big two story penthouse apartment in a tall expensive looking building, which has it's own doormen and security guards, which is placed at a good location on Manhattan right across from Central Park. I've lived in so many different countries, and we still own the houses and apartments in those places, so if I ever need a vacation I have places to go.

I walk into the kitchen and the plate with avocado toast is calling my name. A single bite takes me to heaven already, but sadly it's disturbed by the caller on the wall by the elevator. "Miss La'Fountaine? Your friend is here," A doorman's voice calls from it. I press the button to reply, "Send her up, please."

A few bites later, I hear the elevator open. "Soooo?" My best friend Abby walks in seeming more excited than usual. "I haven't heard anything yet if that's what you mean... You know there's a thing called time difference, right?" I mumbled as I kept eating my breakfast. Abby sits down onto a barstool at the kitchen island beside me and spins around.

Abby's been my best friend since I moved here. I was born in Paris and lived there till I was about 6, then I lived in London till I was about 10 and then I moved to New York and have live Here ever since. Of course besides the months when I've lived elsewhere because of my dad's work. He's such a popular and wanted doctor that he travels a lot because of requests from hospitals.

"When does those Korean men answer you? It's been like what? A month since you went all the way there to audition," Abby sighs with big arm movements. I laugh at her facial expressions and finish my breakfast. "You killed that audition! Like I of course wasn't there, but like... C'MON! IT'S YOU!"
