Chance - Todoroki x Reader (Dance AU)

The boy watched her from a far, taking note of every little move she makes. She was so graceful and beautiful when she danced, and yet she couldn't see that. No one but him could see that she was perfect in her own way.

Shoto Todoroki was one of the best dancers in UA. He was either hated by all the jealous students, or loved by those who idolized him. (Sometimes in a romantic way).

Y/n L/n, however, seemed to be the opposite. Every where she went, she was ridiculed and put down by other students. They never though she was good enough to dance, let alone be in UA.

Even so, she never lost the light that was in her eyes. She tried and tried, never giving up. Shoto admired that.

The dual-haired haired boy was walking the halls, delivering some papers to a teacher. He ended up stumbling across the H/C haired girl, dancing by herself in the studio. He stopped and stared at her.

Thus, leading us back to the beginning of the chapter. He was enthralled by the girl's determination. So enthralled, in fact, that he didn't realized that she had stopped dancing altogether, staring back at him.

"C-Can I help you, Todoroki-san?" She asks, snapping him out of his trance.

The boy's eyes widened after he realized what he had been doing. He cleared his throat and adjusted the papers in his hands.

"I'm sorry, L/n-chan. I didn't mean to distract you in any way. You were doing very well, though." He speaks in a reformed manner, with a hint of awkwardness.

Her doe eyes blinked a couple of times. "Y...You thought I was doing well?" You ask, tilting your head.

"Yes." He nods.

"You mean it?" You ask, slightly skeptical.

"Why would I say it if I didn't mean it?" He retorts.

"W-Well, it's just that.. why would you think that I'm good at dancing? You are one of the best dancers here, and everyone else is always-"

"I'm not like everyone else." He says, his tone stern.

"S-Sorry. I should just leave, honestly-" You slide past him, before feeling a tight grip on your arm.

You look at Todoroki, whose hand was gripping your wrist.

"U-Um... Todoroki-San..?" You say, looking at him.

Shadows were covering his eyes, and his poets were brought close to his chest.

"Are you alright-"

"L/n-chan. Don't let others words get to you. You are, in my eyes, perfect. Please don't think otherwise.." He says, his tone soft and almost begging.

Your eyes widened. Had he, Shoto Todoroki, call you perfect? No, you couldn't have heard that right.

"W-What? I could have swore you called me perfect.. please forgive me if I'm wrong."

"I did." He says, bluntly.

You stare at him, bewildered. So you had heard right!

"W-Wait, why are you.." Your words trail off.

"L/n-san... I want you to stay here and dance here at UA...With me." He looks up at you, his heterochromatic eyes staring into your soul.

"T-Todoroki-san.." You say quietly.

"I'd like to be your friend. If you'll let me." Todoroki says.

"I-I.. S..Sure!" Your eyes light up, a bright smile slowly gracing your face.

"Fantastic." He smiles ever so slightly, letting go of your wrist.

You look at him, then the papers in front of you.

"Do you need to take those somewhere?" You ask him, pointing at the papers currently in his hand.

"Oh- right. Would you like to join me?" He offers.

You smile. "Okay, why not?" You reply.

"Great, follow me then." He says, motioning for you to follow him.

You nod and walk along side him. You both chat along the way to the teacher's lounge

Who knew that the most popular and talented dancer would befriend someone who was the same, but wasn't?

Well, guess that means that everyone deserves;

A chance.
