Todoroki x Reader (Fantasy AU) - Part 4

"..What?"

The prince stared at the smiling girl in front of him, blinking. He felt confused as to why she wanted to be friends with him. Not that he'd refuse her request. She did help him, after all.

"You heard me! Soooo.. Can you be a pal for me?" She grins, blinking her eyes innocently.

"Well.. I suppose but-"

"GREAT!" She hollers, pumping a fist in the air.

Todoroki swallows thickly, staring at her in a confused manner.

"Oh, yeah. You don't have to be friends with me. I don't want to make you uncomfortable, but the thing is.." She scratches the back of her neck.

"I've never had any friends before." She shrugs and smiles.

"That's.. sad." He states bluntly.

"Yep! But now, that's in the past! I have a friend now! Er.. right?" She chuckles nervously.

Todoroki thought about it for a minute. Maybe this wouldn't be terrible, he thought.

"Okay. I'll be your friend." He nods.

The girl's eyes brightened, and she grinned happily.

"Yes! I've got a friend! What do you wanna do first!?" She brings herself close to his face, smiling happily and eyes glimmering.

"..Er, first.." Todoroki grabs her shoulders, pushing her away from his face.

"Oh, sorry! I got kinda excited there." She says bashfully, scratching her neck.

"It's fine. Anyways, I'm not one to.. do many things." He states vaguely.

"Huh? What do you mean?" Y/n tilts her head.

"I don't know exactly what you want from me. You should choose something to do." He tells her.

"Well.. I don't wanna choose! Todoroki, what do you find fun?" She asks.

He just shrugs a little at her.

Y/n deadpans at the prince, and then sighs. "Okay, follow me. This will be fun." She motions for him to follow her as she walks out of the alley.

Todoroki watches as she walks away, and he just stood there. She looked back at him, quirking an eyebrow.

"Well? What're you waiting for! C'mon! Let's have some fun!"

The grin on her face made his muscles relax. He was pretty nervous at first, obviously. It was his very first time out of the castle. His father never let him leave, training him day and night to become the next king.

Not anymore. Todoroki was free now.

And this?

This was his resolve.

You walked with Todoroki, taking exaggeratedly big steps. Noticing how he watched you with such confusion, you simply grinned and shrugged it off.

"Okay. The first fun thing would to beeeee... To play a prank. You know what that is, right?" You look at the male.

Todoroki paused for a second. "Should I know what it is?"

You looked at him, blinking a couple of times.

"Have you been living under a rock your whole life? Are you a hermit?" You ask, dumbfounded.

"Yes. My family and I lived off of potatoes for our whole lives. We had to make money from what little crops we had. I'm on an adventure to find a magical potato that gives us gold." Todoroki's words were laced with sarcasm.
