Part 7: The Light of Hope

(I'm home today and determined to finish this by today or tomorrow so let's get this done!)

I've been looking for Y/N for all day now. She's no where to be found. No trace of her at all. She... she really did leave me... I have to find her... before Monaca does..

(P.O.V changeeeeee)

I appeared outside a shrine, not gonna lie it was pretty. I heard voices from inside. I tried to place the voices. Komaru... Toko and wait.. Nagi!? "Are you ready to die pretty boy?" I heard Toko say. Nagi's in danger!? Fucking hell... You shouldn't save him.. he's not the same person you fell in love with... but does he really deserve to die?? After everything he's been through? You're right.. I can't let anyone hurt him... he can still be saved. You can still help him. So save him Y/N!  I pulled out a gun I found laying around. "You really would kill someone as worthless as me? Ahaha I'm so honored!"
"Oh shut up!" Toko screamed. "Toko stop!" Komaru was holding her back, Toko had scissors aimed directly at Nagi's head. Then I made my presence known, "Don't you fucking touch him!" I screamed, aiming my gun at Toko's head. Nagi's attention instantly turned to me. A look of shock, pain, regret and confusion spread across his face. "Toko please!" Komaru begged. "I'll fucking kill you!" I screamed. Nagi's eyes never left mine. "Let him go!" Toko stayed deadly silent. I shot a bullet at her torso, grazing it. She didn't even flinch. "Please just let him go! I don't want to hurt anyone else!" I begged. "Fine." she spat turning around to face me. "You and the pretty boy are so troubling." Nagi opened his mouth as if to say something but he never got the chance. I ran to him and hugged him tightly. "Are you okay!?" I asked cupping his face, "Did they hurt you!?" His eyes searched mine. "W-why are you here??" he asked. "I thought you left me..." 
"I couldn't just watch you die! I had to do something!" Tears welled up in his eyes. "Y-Y/N!!!" he hugged me back with just as much force. "Wow you guys are sickeningly sweet." Toko spat. "Aw cmon toko they're kinda cute..."  Komaru asked. "I love you." I told Nagito. "I love you so much more.." he choked out. "Wait... you guys are in love!?"
"Yeah... isn't that obvious?" 
"Y-yeah.. we've been together for 7 years now.. isn't that amazing!?" Nagito beamed. "So... y-you're in l-l-love with a psycho.." Toko said. " He's not," I spoke up, " H-he tried to make us kill eachother!" Toko screamed. "But he has a reason!"
"T-then tell us al-all might on-one, w-what's his re-reason?" 
"He's had terrible things happen to him. Lik-" Nagito looked at me, begging me to stop. "O-oh yeah... sorry Nagi. He motioned downwards towards his legs, I looked down to see they were horribly slashed. "D-did they do that??" He nodded. I wiped the tears from my eyes, "I-it's okay now," I said putting on a smile, "I'm here now..." Nagito smiled and pressed himself into me more, "Th-thank you.."  he softly said. "Let's go okay?" 
"O-okay... sorry I can't really walk ^^;;" I kissed his cheek and picked him up carefully. "Let's go home."

"Oh you're finally back!" Monaca said. I ignored her and kept walking. "W-wait Y/N turn back." Nagito asked. "Okay," Nagito gripped my shoulder, "Monaca.""Yes servant?" He laughed, "I'm afraid my time here is done, I'll be taking my leave now."

"Hm??" Wait.. he can just quit?? Why didn't he do that earlier!? "Oh by the way..." Nagito started, "Before we leave, there's something I want to tell you. No matter what you're planning, hope shall win in the end. We'll just wait till the despair has grown to it's largest size and then burn it, all the way down to the roots. And after that only hope will remain. That's the world my Y/N will make." Me?? How would I- "Servant, though you've fallen into despair you fight for hope. Is it because of big sis Junko's influence? Or were you always like this?" she said with a cocky smile. Nagito stayed silent. "She know's the answer.... doesn't she? That's why you cling to her so." 

"Y/N let's go." I nodded and left the room. "I'll take you somewhere safe.". "Okay," Nagito gripped my shoulder, "Monaca."
