The first thing I did when I got back to camp was build a chicken nugget smoke screen. Not exactly, Chiron said a giant chicken nugget-smelling strawberry farm might attract even more attention. So I adjusted my prototype to smell of strawberries, firewood, and fresh cut grass. I also added some cinnamon vanilla, just like the candle, because why not? The barrier around Thalia's tree is more of a Plan B. The fleece survived the Roman attack, but it's guardian dragon did not. Hopefully my new invention is enough to cover up the scent of almost one hundred half-bloods all molded into a small area of land where they trained to be heroes with their super mega awesome powers!
I've finished hooking up my device to the security system, so I decide to go to dinner. I look at my watch, I'm seventeen minutes late. I hope the Mac n cheese is still there when I arrive. That's when I hear a scream erupt from the direction I'm headed. It's an extremely high pitched scream. I bet that if the screamer were to scream any louder, dogs all across New York would bark. The yelp lasts several seconds, almost a minute. Such a high, feminine scream could only come from one person.
Percy is in trouble.
